Position Purpose:
The Department of English is seeking a Professor to join a highly motivated team of teaching and research staff. To apply for the position one needs to have a PhD Degree in from a reputed recognized University, at least 4 (four) publications in the field of specialization in English Language Teaching/
TESOL/ESL in reputed journals as an Associate Professor of which two are in journals of International standard. Six (6) years of Teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
Key Selection Criterion:
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
1. PhD Degree in English Language Teaching/ TESOL/ESL field from a reputed recognized University.
2. Six (6) years of Teaching experience as an Associate Professor
3. At least four (4) publications in the field of specialization in a reputed journal.
4. A minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 at the Master’s degree level.
5. Age must be less than 45 years at the time of appointment.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills

1. The Candidate must have substantial research experience as well as experience of supervising students’ research.
2. Candidate with administrative leadership experience will be given preference.
3. Proficiency in English and Bangla.

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities Teaching and learning
• Minimum 15 credits/ years teaching load is required for this post.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and studio sessions for undergraduate students.
• Perform high-quality subject coordination, marking, assessment and consultation.
• Contribute to student academic counseling and pastoral care of students
Research
• Conduct high-quality and high-impact research by joining acting research teams at the department of law.
• Explore new research areas and obtain external research funds
• Publish papers in high-quality high-impact peer reviewed conferences and journals
• Contribute to the preparation of research proposals to external bodies (HEQEP)
• Establish and maintain productive research collaborations both nationally and internationally.
Internal Services
• Undertake a range of administrative functions assigned by the department such as: Orientation program, Student Advising, Graduation program. Alumni activity
• Organization and support department club activity.

Help with editorial activity of the department journalExternal services
• Review papers for conference and journals
• Assess thesis completed by students at other institutions.
