Job Title: Senior Manager, SHEBREC Position Purpose
Managing the SHEBREC (Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, Bullying and Ragging Elimination Committee) administration as an independent unit within the university
Providing administrative support to SHEBREC and the Chair of the Committee.
Supervising and guiding the SHEBREC administrative team.
Ensuring an effective service responding to concerns and complaints about sexual harassment, bullying and ragging and the sound investigation and resolution of cases within university procedures.
Producing qualitative and quantitative reports on the work of SHEBREC.
Supporting the promotion of awareness across the university of SHEBREC issues.
Organizational Relationships
Position Type: Regular Employment Reporting to: Registrar
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Must return to duty whenever needed.
Functional Relationships:
1. Internal Contacts: SHEBREC Chair and committee members; Proctor; Director of HR:
Registry; Persons of Trust: Students, Faculty, and Staff across the university; external authorities
2. External Contacts: Different stakeholders including students.
1.0 Key Accountabilities
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Managing all aspects of the operations of the SHEBREC administration, line managing staff and providing for their professional development
Providing administrative services for SHEBREC and the Chair of the Committee
Ensuring an effective service responding to concerns and complaints about sexual harassment, bullying and ragging and the sound, impartial, proportionate, fair and effective investigation and resolution of cases within university procedures
Preparing qualitative and quantitative reports as required for SHEBREC and other committees and for managers
Acting as the focal point for all SHEBREC-related queries
Working with various administrative bodies in ensuring the smooth functioning of SHEBREC activities
Preparing and monitoring SHEBREC budgets
Maintaining the content of the SHEBREC web pages and publications
Maintaining SHEBREC records
Promoting awareness across the University about SHEBREC issues

Administrative Duties relating to all matters that the membership of a University entails, including cross-institutional-wide activities.
General Responsibility to undertake all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager
1.2 Qualifications
Excellent academic credentials, preferably in Law; a Master’s degree is desirable.
1.3 Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes
Knowledge of the law and good practice in the handling of harassment, bullying and ragging cases (Bangladeshi law)
Previous experience and/or academic background in legal, para-legal or gender issues will be an advantage
Experience in investigation or handling of disciplinary cases would be an advantage
Organizational and managerial skills
Sound judgement and ability to handle effective case investigations
Demonstrable commitment to the welfare of students, staff and others in the university community
Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to act as a member and leader of a team;
Experience in being supportive and encouraging of others,
Experience in using initiative and creativity to resolve problems, identifying suitable solutions
Methodical approach to work and high level of attention to detail
Ability to work to multiple deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills both in Bengali and English
Ability to produce high-quality written and data reports
Capacity to act as an effective committee administrator
Understanding the importance of confidentiality and discretion
Commitment to professional development
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and service areas
Understanding and commitment to principles of diversity, inclusion and gender equality
Good IT skills – MS office and internet
Willingness to work some anti-social hours, including weekends and evenings, when required
1.4 Other Duties
It is acknowledged and agreed that the changing needs of the University may require a role/job/position to change from time to time but such alteration shall not be deemed to be a variation of the Employment Contract/Terms and Conditions of Employment or a breach of the same provided that the substantial nature of the employment remains consistent with the parties’ intentions at the time of the offer of the job and acceptance of the offer.
