We hereby clarify that this internship report on “Assessment of Employee Satisfaction in Sonali Bank Limited: A Study on Green Road Branch, Dhaka” has been submitted for Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Daffodil. International University, Prepared by dr. Tarek Aziz, ID No. declares that the presented internship report on “Assessment of Employee Satisfaction in Sonali Bank Limited: A Study on Green Road, Branch, Dhaka” of Master of Business Administration at Daffodil International University has been prepared by me.

Compilation of this internship report titled “Assessment of Employee Satisfaction of Sonali Bank Ltd: A Study of Green Road Branch, Dhaka” based on a 3-month internship program. After the survey, it was found that the majority of employees are satisfied with the factors of job satisfaction that they stated in the questionnaire. Because some employees are dissatisfied with their working conditions, relationship with colleagues, job security and personal growth at the bank.

The bank operates all its products as the Green Road Branch is in the middle of the city. My assignment was designed to understand the level of job satisfaction of the employees of Sonali Bank Ltd, Green Road Branch.

Sonali Bank Ltd, an interest bank in Bangladesh, incorporated as a banking company on 5 July 1995 under the Companies Act 1994. It commenced banking business on 22 November 1995 with an authorized capital of Tk 1,000 million divided into 1 million ordinary shares of 1,000 each Tk. . The bank provides all kinds of commercial banking services and it does business on hire purchase transactions. The wide-ranging operational aspects of the bank have been determined to encompass three sectors - formal, informal and voluntary - in a comprehensive programme.

In the formal corporate sector, the bank provides banking services through deposit and investment accounts, trade finance and account collection, money transfers, equipment rental, and consumer durables, and hire purchase and installment sales of capital goods, investment in low cost housing and property management and financing projects in agriculture, transport, education and health sectors. The bank started making net profit after adjusting all provisions for tax since 1998 and classified loans amounted to Tk 38.1 million. The management of the bank is vested in a 27-member group of directors led by a chairman.

There is a five-member Shariah Board of the bank to ensure adherence to Islamic rules in its activities. The bank also has an international advisory board of 13 members of honorary foreign members to advise it on international advisory board to advise it on international business matters, especially in Islamic countries. Total deposits of the bank amounted to Tk 4863.21 million in 2000 compared to Tk 124.73 million in 1995 and included foreign exchange and other deposits, accounts payable, term deposits and savings deposits.

To be the best private commercial bank in Bangladesh in terms of efficiency, capital adequacy, asset quality, good governance and profitability. Sonali Bank Ltd started its journey with the concept of a three-sector model of Islamic participatory banking of the 21st century. 1. Formal sector – commercial banking with the latest technology. Honesty: Honesty is scriptural - we adhere to this respect in all our benefits.

Accountability: To be responsible is to be able to also overcome any doubts – we are there obediently. Religiosity: Sonali Bank upgrades financial well-being regarding the joy of devotional ethics. Sonali Bank Ltd, the largest commercial bank in the country, received the Best Brand Award from the Bangladesh Brand Forum, a wing of the international research organization Nielsen.

Job satisfaction is the degree of satisfaction another feels with regard to his performance. A different with a high level of achievement has positive states of mind about the work, whereas another who is discouraged with his task has a negative attitude almost the job. Heaviness, disorder, anxiety etc. although with a positive state of mind they will impress others and their task.

Due to the popularity of job satisfaction within the topic of professional and organizational attitudes, more than a few analyzes and practitioners have provided their own definition of what job satisfaction is. According to P.E. Spector, Job satisfaction is the extent to which people like or dislike their jobs. De Nobile defined job satisfaction as 'the extent to which a staff member delivers favorable or positive performance in the field of work/work environment'.

Ivancevič et al. described job satisfaction as "the feeling and perception of the worker about his work and how he feels about management". Davis, Newstrom, and Dessler define job satisfaction as a set of favorable/unfavorable activities for workers to perceive their task and that determine the possibility of a greater tendency to achieve higher performance. Promotion system: Timely promotion of employees to a higher rank is also an important determinant of employee satisfaction.

If there is any specific promotion arranged in the organization, that will definitely lead to better employee satisfaction of the employees. Non-financial incentives: Non-financial incentives are in the form of children's school facilities, hospital facilities, employee transport facilities, prayer facilities etc. Job security refers to the nature of the job that is whether a job is permanent, temporary or temporary.

Data Analysis on Employees’ Satisfaction on Sonali Bank Ltd Green Road Branch, Dhaka

The data for each question was used to analyze the level of job satisfaction in Green Road branch, Dhaka. Levels of employee satisfaction of job satisfaction measured on the statements of Strongly Agree, Disagree, Agree and Neutral Strongly Disagree.

Here among the 10 employees, 60% of the respondents strongly agreed, 60% agreed that their performance appraisal is pleasant. With this analysis here, 30% of the respondents completely agreed. 60% of respondents agreed that their promotion system is enjoyable. Here the analysis shows that 30% of the respondents strongly agreed. 20% of respondents agreed that their performance appraisal is pleasant.

This analysis proves that employees are dissatisfied with their personal growth at all. This analysis proves that the rewards of the workers with property and most workers are happy with it.

The satisfied workers are motivated workers, this is the stage in the case of SBL, so there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance. Most of the employees believe that they do not get jobs as per their educational qualifications and experience. Some employees claim that they are not paid enough with his/her designation - creating a negative image of the organization.

According to the benefits of salary and wages after their work, they feel sick about their work. The supervisor must inform all employees about the current situation of the organization, especially new employees. The supervisor of the organization must care for all personnel, not only selective persons.

The senior employees allow support and influence to provide good quality work with their junior staff. The report on "An Evaluation of the Employees' Satisfaction of Sonali Bank Limited: A Study on Green Road Branch, Dhaka". Tak reveals that employee satisfaction is one of the mainstream of the organization and its policy and the pillar of success of an organization.

Sonali Bank Limited has differential level of satisfaction beyond government variables like earnings, job assessment, effective position and effective situation, co-worker relationship, controlling approach, administration approach, commission and incentives, work agreement, specific progress, etc. significant in conclusive work compensation of employees of the Sonali Bank Limited.
