ABSTRACT
The reason to choose the title above is: Although the drinking
water has been produced by PDAM Tirta Wampu, but many people
remain to consume the water taken from another source that is
irrelevant to hygiene standard.
The objective of this research is to analyze of how far the
independent
variable
can
affect
the
dependent
variable.
The
independent variables in this research are included: Population total
of Langkat and percapita income rank, while the dependent one is:
Demand rate to drinking water from PDAM Tirta Wampu. In order to
arrive for the objective, some hypotheses were raised as follows:
1. The increasing of population total effects positively to drinking
water demand in PDAM Tirta Wampu Langkat.
2. The increasing of per capita income

water demand in PDAM Tirta Wampu Langkat.
The collected data is secondary data that
ISgained as a
resource from PDAM Tirta Wampu and from statistic Center Biro,
Langkat.
To know hypothesis truth, analyzing of data by using multiple
Linear Regression Analyses is implemented.
Some
conclusion
has
been
gained
from
the
research
result,
i.e. :
1. The increasing to per capita income will increase the demand on
drinking water in PDAt'VI Langkat.
2. The increasing of population total has insignificant impact on
drinking water in PDAM Tirta Wampu.
This likely due to: the total of population in this research is
viewed from two sides. First, the population as customers, where the
increasing of family number will enhance the demand on drinking
water in PDAM Tirta Wampu. Second, the population who is not"

belonged to customers, the increasing of family member number will
not increase the drinking water demand in PDAM Tirta
Wampu,
3. The most effect to drinking water demand in PDAM Tirta Wampu
is percapita income of community, the higher per capita income
