THE EXEMPTION FROM IMPORT DUTY ON BASIC MATERIALS FOR AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENT PRODUCTION
(Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 345/KMK.01/1999 dated June 24, 1999) THE MINISTER OF FINANCE
Considering :
a. that with a view to supporting and encouraging the development as well as enhancing the independent growth of the automotive component industry so as to induce
competitiveness, it is deemed necessary to grant an import duty exemption to basic materials for the production of automotive components;
b. that for the purpose as meant in point a, it is necessary to issue a decree of the Minister of Finance to this effect.
In view of :
1. Law No. 10/1995 on customs affairs (Statute Book of 1995 No. 75, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3612);
2. Presidential Decree No. 122/M/1998
3. The Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 440/KMK.01/1996 on the system of classifications of goods and import duty rates on import goods as already amended and supplemented the latest by the Decree of the Minister of Finance No.
344/KMK.01/1999.
DECIDES : To stipulate :
THE DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE CONCERNING THE EXEMPTION FROM IMPORT DUTY ON BASIC MATERIALS FOR AUTOMOTIVE
COMPONENT PRODUCTION.
Article 1
Basic materials for the production of automotive components as stipulated in the attachment to this decree by the automotive component industry, shall be granted an import duty exemption so that the final rates of their import duty become 0% (nil percent).
Article 2
(1) Applications for the exemption as meant in Article 1 shall be submitted to the Director General of Customs and Excise.
paragraph (1) by referring to the list of basic materials as contained in the attachment to this decree.
Article 3
The Director General of Customs and Excise shall implement the provisions in this decree.
Article 4
With the enforcement of this decree, the Decree of the Minister of Finance No.
36/KMK.01/1997 jo. the Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 20/KMK.01/1998 and the Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 37/KMK.01/1997 and implementation rules
thereof shall be declared null and void.
Article 5 This decree shall come into force as of July 1, 1999.
For public cognizance, this decree shall be announced by publishing it in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
