Lampiran 1. Lembar Penjelasan Kepada Orang Tua

Bapak/Ibu Yth,

Saat ini saya sedang melakukan penelitian yang berjudul:

“PENGARUH ALBENDAZOL DAN MEBENDAZOL TERHADAP

PERKEMBANGAN TELUR CACING CAMBUK ”

yang menyangkut masalah infeksi kecacingan pada anak. Dari

penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya, diketahui bahwa infeksi kecacingan mempunyai pengaruh

yang besar terhadap pertumbuhan maupun perkembangan anak. Infeksi

kecacingan tidak saja meningkatkan angka kesakitan, tetapi juga menyebabkan

malnutrisi dan mengganggu kemampuan belajar pada anak.

Angka kejadian infeksi kecacingan di daerah tropis dan subtropis sangat tinggi,

yakni angka kejadian di Sumatera Utara sendiri mencapai 50%. Infeksi

kecacingan yang paling sering ialah infeksi oleh cacing cambuk, cacing gelang

dan cacing tambang.

Pencegahan dan pengobatan infeksi kecacingan terdiri dari perbaikan sanitasi,

edukasi mengenai higienitas dan pengobatan. Pengobatan yang paling baik pada

saat ini ialah dengan pemberian obat albendazol ataupun mebendazol, yang akan

memberi angka kesembuhan hampir mencapai 100%. Obat ini diketahui tidak

hanya membunuh cacing, tetapi juga larva dan telur. Sehingga pengobatan dengan

obat tersebut tidak hanya menyembuhkan penderita tetapi juga mencegah

terjadinya penularan infeksi cacing melalui tanah. Berdasarkan

penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya, hampir tidak pernah dilaporkan efek samping setelah

pemberian obat tersebut. Efek samping yang dapat terjadi ialah ketidaknyamanan

pada perut, yang dapat dihindari dengan pemberian makan sebelum

mengkonsumsi obat. Pemberian pengobatan pada penelitian ini tidak dikutip biaya

sedikitpun.

Pada hari 1, anak bapak/ibu akan dibagikan pot kosong sebagai tempat

menampung tinja dari anak bapak/ibu

Pada hari 2, pot tersebut akan dikumpulkan dan diperiksa terhadap infeksi

kecacingan

3.

Pada hari 3, anak bapak/ibu yang didapati terinfeksi oleh cacing maka akan diberi

pengobatan dengan albendazol dan mebendazol dosis tunggal , setelah

sebelumnya telah diberikan snack terlebih dahulu. Pada anak bapak/ibu yang

memang positif menderita infeksi kecacingan, maka akan dibagikan kembali pot

kosong pada hari ke-6 untuk menampung tinja sebagai pemantauan terhadap efek

pengobatan tersebut

Pada lazimnya, penelitian ini tidak akan menimbulkan hal-hal yang berbahaya

bagi anak bapak/ibu sekalian. Namun, bila terjadi hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan

selama penelitian berlangsung, yang disebabkan oleh perlakuan yang dilakukan

pada penelitian ini, bapak / ibu dapat menghubungi

A. Alat dan bahan yang diperlukan :

1. Selofan sebesar 2,5 – 3 cm

2. Larutan untuk selofan terdiri atas

100 bagian aguadest (6% fenol)

100 bagian gliserin

3. 1 bagian larutan hijau malachite 3%

4. Rendam selofan dalam larutan tersebut di atas sebelum dipakai selama 24 jam

5. Objek glass dan cover glass

B. Cara Kerja :

1. Ambil 20 – 50 mg tinja ( sebesar kacang merah)

2. Letakkan diatas kaca benda (kaca objek), diratakan

3. Tutup dengan selofan

4. Tekan selofan dengan kaca objek hingga rata

5. Keringkan larutan yang berlebihan dengan kertas saring

6. Biarkan sediaan yang sudah selesai dibuat selama 20 – 30 menit

7. Periksa di bawah mikroskop
