Key words: Politeness Strategies, interviews, Jonathan Ross Show and Talk Asia. A good interaction requires politeness principle to organize how to convey information to the audience or hearer. There are several reasons why politeness is important. First, the speaker can indicate politeness that they are educated people, whereas other reason politeness is a sign that there is mutual respect during the conversation. Politeness can be learned through an interview on talk show script, for instance: Jonathan Ross show and Talk Asia.
This skripsi aims to analyze the kinds of politeness strategies by Brown and Levinson (1987) which is used by a native Korean who speak English fluently during the interview with an English speaker.
This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data of this study is the utterances of politeness which are found during the interview with Psy on the Jonathan Ross show and Talk Asia issued on November 2012. There are several steps in conducting this study: finding the data, clasify it’s data and also tabulating.
In this study, the writer found 24 politeness strategies on the Jonathan Ross show and 54 politeness strategies on Talk Asia. Politeness strategies are most often used in both show is positive politeness strategy in which there are 17 positive politenesses on the Jonathan Ross show and 38 positive politenesses on Talk Asia. Which means that during the interview they more often show solidarity appealing of friendship and closeness with each other.

Kata kunci : Strategi Kesopanan, wawancara, acara Jonathan Ross dan Talk asia Interaksi yang baik membutuhkan prinsip kesantunan untuk mengorganisir bagaimana menyampaikan sebuah informasi kepada pendengar. Ada beberapa alasan mengapa kesantunan sangatlah penting. Pertama, kesantunan mengindikasikan pembicaranya bahwa mereka adalah orang-orang yang berpendidikan, sedangkan alasan lainnya kesantunan merupakan isyarat bahwa ada sikap saling menghargai selama percakapan berlangsung. Kesantunan dapat dipelajari melalui script sebuah acara wawancara ditelevisi, sebagai contoh : acara Jonathan Ross dan Talk asia.
Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis macam-macam strategi kesopanan berdasarkan teori teori Brown and Levinson (1987) yang digunakan oleh seorang Korea asli yang berbahasa inggris lancar selama proses wawancara dengan pembicara bahasa inggris asli.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah ungkapan kesantunan yang ditemukan selama proses wawancara dangan Psy di acara Jonathan Ross dan Talk asia yang terjadi pada November 2012. Terdapat beberapa langkah dalam menjalankan penelitian ini, yaitu menemukan data, mengklasifikasikannya dan juga menyusun table.
Hasil penelitian ini, penulis menemukan 24 strategi kesopanan pada acara Jonathan Ross dan 54 strategi kesopanan pada acara Talk Asia. Strategi kesopanan yang paling sering digunakan pada kedua acara tersebut adalah kesantunan positif, dimana terdapat 17 kesantunan positif pada acara Jonathan Ross dan 38 kesantunan positif pada acara Talk Asia, yang artinya selama wawancara berlangsung mereka lebih sering menunjukkan kekompakkan dalam persahabatan serta kedekatan satu sama lain.
