The concept and the aim of this article is very intersting, to use natural fiber such as Banana fiber.

In my opinun better if the author starting used natural fiber (Banana fiber) in normal trational concrete, after that you can upgrade your idea and your research to use in main applications, ( Grout or SCC).

The paper presents an interesting study to evaluate the effect of natural fiber (Banana fiber) on the mechanical properties of self compacting concrete.

The study is well described in scientific terms and is supported by laboratory tests.

This paper could be made effective with minor revision.

Technical:

T1: Page 3, Where are the gradations of both coarse and fine aggregate curve. Which Specification you are used? This is very important?

T2. What about fineness modulus of sand ? did you computed?

T3. Page 4, Table 4. shows the quantity of cement is very high is 518 kg/m³. For design compressive strength of self-compacting concrete up to 38 MPa... Why you added the high range of cement? What about the cost of cement which you added?

T4. What about plastic shrinkage and drying shrinkage if the cement is very high is 518 kg/m³? T5. Table 6... What about J ring test ? I did see in the results? This also very important test?

T7. Table 6..L box test is %??

T8. Table 8. Slump flow test only tested , where are other tested such as L box or V funnel ? I think only two tested SCCSP0.7 and SCCSP0.7_A...with the mimum range of Slump flow...but the other tested out of the range?

T9. Hardened concrete of SCC Page 7. ...The compressive strength is not satisfied, with high range of cement? Mix ID SCCSP0.7_D, the strength 47.47 MPa, Why the strength in increase only in this mix ? I did not see any explanations?

T10...conclusion and recommendations....better if you added as future research, how to application the natural fiber such as Banana fiber, for grouting or Two-stage concrete. there are alot of articles using Two-stage concrete....

Authors tested the fresh, and hardened properties of self- compacting concretes containing different amounts of banana fibers in mixture. I regret to say that the scope and aim of this study has no novelty. All results about banana fibers are expectable and similar fresh, and mechanical tests are previously performed before and published in literature. As of this form, this paper is more look like a test report rather than a research article with novel findings. Unfortunately, I am against its publication due to the lack of originality and novelty.
