Learning to beginning writing reading in elementary school Surakarta poor region at the present time fail. This failure is marked by the phenomenon of students in the region were not well read the sentences, words, syllables, and letters have gone up even to second class in elementary school. Unlike the students in primary schools in the area of high socioeconomic upward, which have been able to reach the standard of competence to read written several months after sitting in first class. This is because students in poor areas do not get the learning to read and write as obtained by students in other areas, which are fun and more meaningful. This will make more deep divisions or gaps in the children of poor areas with the children in the area of socio-economic background of middle to upper. This is precisely what will ultimately result in the birth of the social problems that hurt all parties.

Teraputik study aims to present a treatment failure reading writing learning in primary schools in poor areas Surakarta. In the long run, the results of this research can bring learning to reading and writing in accordance with its nature. Essentially in learning to write, students eligible for learning fun and meaningful. Symptoms of this failure is due to poor teacher learning model meaningful reading and writing can be fun students. The selection of this attractive approach is expected to answer these issues.

This study successfully develop a model’s of learning to reading and writing device with an attractive approach to the syllabus includes learning, Learning Program Plan, and evaluation tools of learning to read write beginning with attractive approach. The acceptability of the instructional model based on the response of the stakeholders includes the response of the decision makers, the response of the teachers, the response of the students and their parents. The response of the decision, makers, the response of the teachers, the response of the students and their parents all are positive. The positive response can generate great benefits for a sustainable application of the attarctive approach, can be used as a therapy against the failure of learning to reading and writing in elementary school in Surakarta’s poor areas.

In second year, this research result in the implementation manual start learning to reading and writing attractive approach in primary schools. The book contains guidelines; Lesson Learning Program Plan development and implementation of evaluation Lesson Learning to reading and writing with attractive approach. Next test the validity of the manual; Increasing the capacity of teachers in implementing reading writing learning model with attractive approach in primary schools through training and learning models to find the effectiveness of reading and writing with attractive approach (the experimental) based on manual reading to improve writing competency beginning of primary school pupils in Surakarta’s poor areas.

Andayani, Martono, Atikah. STUDI TERAPUTIK PEMBELAJARAN MEMBACA MENULIS PERMULAAN DENGAN PENDEKATAN ATRAKTIF DI SD KAWASAN MISKIN. FKIP.UNS. 2010

Pembelajaran membaca menulis permulaan di sekolah dasar kawasan miskin Kota Surakarta pada masa sekarang menemui kegagalan. Kegagalan ini ditandai dengan fenomena murid di kawasan tersebut belum lancar membaca kalimat, kata, suku kata, dan huruf meskipun sudah naik ke kelas-2. Berbeda dengan murid-murid di sekolah dasar di kawasan sosial ekonomi menengah ke atas, yang telah dapat mencapai standar kompetensi membaca menulis beberapa bulan setelah duduk di kelas-1. Hal ini disebabkan murid-murid di kawasan miskin tidak mendapatkan pembelajaran membaca menulis sebagaimana didapatkan oleh murid-murid di kawasan yang lain, yaitu secara menyenangkan dan lebih bermakna.

Hal tersebut menjadikan semakin lebarnya jurang pemisah atau kesenjangan kompetensi anak-anak di kawasan miskin ketika dibandingkan dengan anak-anak di kawasan yang berlatar belakang sosial ekonominya menengah ke atas. Hal ini pulalah yang selanjutnya berakibat lahirnya masalah-masalah sosial yang merugikan berbagai pihak

Studi teraputik ini bertujuan menyajikan sebuah terapi terhadap kegagalan pembelajaran membaca menulis di sekolah dasar di kawasan miskin Kota Surakarta. Dalam jangka panjang, hasil penelitian ini dapat mewujudkan pembelajaran membaca menulis sesuai dengan hakikatnya. Hakikatnya dalam pembelajaran membaca menulis, murid berhak mendapatkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna. Gejala kegagalan tersebut muncul karena miskinnya guru akan model pembelajaran membaca menulis yang bermakna dan dapat menyenangkan murid. Pemilihan pendekatan atraktif ini diharapkan dapat menjawab persoalan tersebut.
