ABSTRAK
Penelitian mengenai Identifikasi Perubahan Bobot Badan dan Kemampuan Adaptasi Domba Ekor Gemuk (DEG) Jantan Pasca Transportasi pada Bobot Badan Berbeda, telah dilaksanakan mulai bulan Maret-April 2012 di peternakan PT Agro Great Indoberkah dan PT. Agro Jaya Mulya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan bobot badan dan lama adaptasi DEG jantan pada bobot badan berbeda pasca transportsi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling. Peubah yang diukur adalah perubahan bobot badan, konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pakan dan lama adaptasi ditinjau dari kondisi fisiologis dengan mengukur frekuensi pernafasan, detak jantung, dan suhu tubuh.
Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap Domba Ekor Gemuk sebanyak 20 ekor, jenis kelamin jantan, yang berumur 11-12 bulan dengan bobot antara 15-20 kg sebanyak 10 ekor dan bobot antara 23-28 kg sebanyak 10 ekor berasal dari Holding Ground Probolinggo (Jawa Timur). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan bobot badan ke arah positif yaitu ditunjukkan dengan pertambahan bobot badan sebesar 170,93 gram/ekor/hari pada bobot kecil dan 160,07 gram/ekor/hari pada bobot besar. Lama adaptasi pada DEG sebesar 2-3 minggu, hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan perubahan kondisi fisiologis ke arah yang lebih baik dan mulai stabil pada minggu kedua pengamatan.

ABSTRACT
Research on the Identification of changes in Body Weight and Adaptation Ability Male Fat-tailed Sheep After Transportation on the Different Body Weight, have been conducted starting in March-April 2012 in Ranch PT. Agro Great Indoberkah and PT. Agro Jaya Mulya. This research aims to find body weight change and adaptation length of male Fat Tailed Sheep after transportation on the different body weight. The used method was case study with simple random sampling for sampling technique. Variables measured were change of body weight, feed intake, feed efficiency and length adaptation in terms of physiological conditions by measuring the frequency of breathing, heart rate, and body temperature.
This research was using 20 Fat Tailed Sheep, males, which aged 11-12 months. 10 sheeps had body weight between 15-20 kg and another sheeps had 23-28 kg. The sheeps cames from a Holding Ground of East Java (Jawa Timur). The results showed that have positive direction of body weight changes, it was shown by average daily gain 170.93 gram/head/day for the small body weight and 160.07 gram/head/day for the large body weight. Fat Tailed Sheep long adaptation of 2-3 weeks, it was indicated by changes in physiological conditions to a better direction and began to stabilize in the second week of observation.
