ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF REFEREES
The continued success of the
Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies
depends
cru-cially on the willingness of individuals to give up their time and energy to
under-take peer reviews of papers submitted for publication. On behalf of the Indonesia
Project at the Australian National University, the Editor, Acting Editor and
Asso-ciate Editor wish to express their sincere gratitude to each of the individuals who
provided referees’ reports in 2007.
We also wish to thank those who assisted us in 2007 by providing valuable
feed-back on drafts of the regular ‘Survey of recent developments’ and the
Decem-ber issue’s politics paper from the annual Indonesia Update conference: Edward
Aspinall, Greg Fealy, Ross Garnaut, Hal Hill, Rodd McGibbon, Peter McCawley,
Chris Manning, Budy P. Resosudarmo and Ken Ward.

ABSTRACTS OF DOCTORAL THESES ON
THE INDONESIAN ECONOMY
As a service to readers BIES has decided regularly to publish the abstracts of recently completed doctoral theses on the Indonesian economy. The intention is to bring signifi cant new research in this fi eld, and the authors of such work, to the notice of readers soon after theses have been examined and accepted.
New PhDs are strongly encouraged to submit thesis abstracts of about 500 words for publication in this series. Abstracts must be in English, although the thesis itself may be written in any language.
The subject must be economics in Indonesia, widely interpreted to include fi elds such as economic history and economic geography; comparative country studies that focus particularly on Indonesia are also acceptable. Theses must have been accepted to be eligible.
Submissions should include the name and contact details of the student’s supervisor (not for publication) to allow confi rmation of eligibility. They should indicate the year of acceptance of the thesis, the name of the conferring institution and the author’s e-mail address, and should be sent to: editor.bies@anu.edu.au.
Readers, especially former advisers of doctoral candidates, are kindly requested to bring this series to the attention of new PhDs, or to advise the editor if they are aware of recently completed theses that may be suitable for inclusion.
Thesis abstracts have been published in the December issue of BIES each year since 2003.
