Tourism is a sector that is very sensitive to safety issues. However, there is still some optimism in hotel business, shown by accomodation rate for hotels and non-hotels. Generally, description on hotel business can be seen as follows. During 2001-2005, both accomodation for hotels and non-hotels has an increasing trend. In 2001 the accomodation rate was 10,375 and kept increasing until 11,350 in 2005 with average yearly growth of 1.6%. On the other side, fear of terror still haunts visitors/tourists to Indonesia after the Bali bombing. This can be seen by declining accomodation rate both hotels and non-hotels in each province. For hotel classification, East Kalimantan dropped drastically with average growth of minus 10.6%. Bali also experiences the same condition as accomodation rate for non-hotels shows declining trend with average growth of minus 0.1%.
