ABSTRAK
Gaya komunikasi merupakan cara penyampaian dan gaya bahasa yang penting dalam melakukan budaya kerja, artinya memerlukan orang lain dan membutuhkan kelompok atau masyarakat untuk saling berinteraksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya komunikasi dan kepemimpinan kepala ruangan terhadap budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan di rumah sakit swasta di Kota Medan. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif korelasi. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 348 orang perawat pelaksana yang bekerja di rumah sakit Bunda Thamrin Medan dan rumah sakit Bina Kasih Medan dan sampel penelitian sebanyak 176 orang perawat pelaksana. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah Pearson Product Moment. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas gaya komunikasi kepala ruangan menurut perawat pelaksana adalah the structuring style sebanyak 57 orang (32,00%) dan minoritas adalah the controlling style sebanyak 7 orang (4,00%). Mayoritas menyatakan kepemimpinan kepala ruangan baik sebanyak 143 orang (81,1%) dan minoritas buruk sebanyak 33 orang (18,9%). Mayoritas menyatakan budaya pelayanan unit keperawatan baik sebanyak 153 orang (87,4%) dan minoritas buruk sebanyak 23 orang (12,6%). Ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara gaya komunikasi dengan budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan dengan nilai p = 0.00 < 0,05 dan r = 0,274 artinya pengaruh antara gaya komunikasi kepala ruangan dengan budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan adalah “rendah”. Ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan kepala ruangan dengan budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan dengan nilai p = 0.00 < 0,05 dan r = 0,741 artinya pengaruh antara kepemimpinan kepala ruangan dengan budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan adalah “kuat”. Diharapkan kepemimpinan rumah sakit swasta di kota medan memperhatikan gaya komunikasi, kepemimpinan kepala ruangan sehingga terciptanya budaya kerja unit pelayanan keperawatan yang lebih baik lagi.

ABSTRACT
Human beings have their communication style and in doing work culture they have to communicate which means that they need other people, a group of people, or a community to communicate to one another. The objective of the research was to find out the influence of ward heads’ communication and leadership styles on work culture of the Nursing Care Units in the Mental Hospitals in Medan, in 2016. The research used descriptive correlation method. The population was 348 nurse practitioners in Bunda Thamrin Hospital and in Bina Kasih Hospital, Medan, and 176 of them were used as the samples. Pearson Product Moment was used for statistic test. The result of the research showed that 57 respondents (32%) stated that the ward heads’ communication style was the structuring style, 7 respondents (4%) stated that it was the controlling style, 143 respondents (81.1%) stated that the ward heads’ leadership was good, 33 respondents (18.9%) stated that it was bad, 153 respondents (87.4%) stated that service culture in the Nursing Care Units was good, and 23 respondents (12.6%) stated that it was bad. There was positive and significant influence of communication style on work culture in the Nursing Care Units at p=0.00 < 0.05 and r=0.274 which indicated that the influence of the ward heads’ communication style on the work culture in the Nursing Care Units was “low”. There was positive and significant influence of the ward heads’ leadership style on work culture in the Nursing Care Units at p-value =0.00 < 0.05 which indicated that the influence of the ward heads’ leadership style on work culture in the Nursing Care Units was “strong.” It is recommended that private hospitals in Medan pay attention to the aspects of ward heads’ communication and leadership styles so that work culture in the Nursing Care Units becomes better.
