vii ABSTRACT
One of efforts to prevent post partum bleeding from taking place is by rectal misoprostol management. However, the misoprostol management results in significant responses: nausea, vomit, diarrhea, headache, and shiver. This research was designed to identify description of post partum maternal response after misoprostol management in RSKIA Bandung.
The sampling in this research was making use of consecutive sampling technique in the number of respondent some 30. Type of research to be used was quantitative descriptive. The data analysis uses the frequency distribution table. The data collection was made on 28 November – 7 December 2012 by means of observations and interviews.
The results of this research shown that responses in highest presentation from minute 15 - 2nd hours are nausea; however, 3rd and 4th hours are headache. Most frequently response is shiver in terms of observation at minute 15 - 4thhours.
Based on the results of the research, we advice RSKIA Bandung, to develop standardized operational observation procedure on post partum women by misoprostol management. Nurses are anticipated to be able to provide reasonable intervention to decrease or prevent possible response.
