Title: WCS 1.1.1 Change Request - Clarify Temporal Domain Parameter
Source: Steven Keens, PCI Geomatics
Work item code: Date: 2008-02-12
Category: D (Add needed information)
Use one of the following categories:
F (Critical correction)
A (corresponds to a correction in an earlier release)
B (Addition of feature),
C (Functional modification of feature)
D (Editorial modification)
Reason for change: GetCoverage request specification says nothing about what a server should do with the temporal domain parameter when the server didn’t publish a temporal domain in the offered coverage’s description.
Summary of change: Specify that the server should just ignore the parameter, treating it like a normal unknown parameter as from OWS Common 1.1
Consequences if
not approved:
Fixes a I minor ambiguity.

b To request coverage values at all available spatial locations, use a BoundingBox supplied in the CoverageDescription for the chosen coverage. WCS use of this BoundingBox is further specified in Subclause Error: Reference source not found.
c Omit the TemporalSubset to request coverage values for all available times.
d A server that has not published a temporal domain in an offered coverage’s description and the server receives a temporalSubset parameter then the server shall emit an InvalidParameterValue exception.
