PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR MELALUI MODEL GUIDED DISCOVERY LEARNING

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas V SD yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model Guided Discovery Learning. (2) Mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas V SD yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran langsung? (3) Mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas V SD yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model

Guided Discovery Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain kontrol pretest posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V sekolah dasar di kecamatan Batujajar, tahun ajaran 2014-2015. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas V dari 2 sekolah di wilayah tersebut. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Dari keseluruhan proses dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1)

Nia Nurmalasari (1308120): The Improvement of Mathematics Conceptual Understanding of Fifth Graders Through Guided Discovery Learning Model.

This study aims to: (1) Knowing the improvement of mathematics conceptual understanding of fifth graders students who obtain learning Guided Discovery Learning model. (2) Knowing the improvement of mathematical conceptual understanding of fifth grade students who obtain teaching mathematics with direct learning model? (3) Knowing the improvement of mathematical conceptual understanding of fifth grade students who obtain learning Guided Discovery Learning model is better than the students who received direct instruction. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest posttest control. The study population was the fifth grade of elementary school students in the district Batujajar, school year 2014-2015. The research sample are fifth grade students from two schools in the distric. This research data obtained through students' test mathematics conceptual understanding. From the whole process can be concluded that the results of this study are: (1) By using the guided discovery learning model, mathematics conceptual understanding of fifth grade students improved, (2) By using the direct learning model, mathematics conceptual understanding of fifth grade students improved. (3) The improvement of mathematics conceptual understanding of students who received teaching under guided discovery learning model is better than the students who received direct instruction. Learning model applied in this study provide significant influence on the students' ability of mathematical conceptual understanding.
