ABSTRACT
Charcoal had been well known our community as one energy
sources since long time ago. It was once used as the fuel by the house
holders to cook, but these days it has other multifunction. After being
processed into " the active charcoal " it is used to purity water in pulp
industries and oil.
The production of charcoal in indonesia had been exist since
the old days. Hawover, the producers found it hard to develop its
market. It is because of small capital, traditional tecnology and limited
material sorces.
The some conditions also appear in Dolok Sanggul, one of the
small distric in North tapanuli. The making of charcoal had been since
1990. In fact, its demand are increasing with in the done setting up of PT.
Indorayon. Charcoal was used by the factory as the fuel to heat the
engine. Hawever since the closing of the factory, its order was no longer
high. Nevertheless, an analysis
is
needed to find out the good prospect
of this traditional product releated with the production.
