Arti Lambang Daerah Kota Jambi
Lambang Kota Jambi secara keseluruhan melambangkan sejarah, filosofi geologis dan identitas kebesaran Kerajaan Jambi. Secara rinci makna lambang Kota Jambi adalah sebagai berikut :
1. Gambar bersegi lima berwarna putih melambangkan masyarakat Kota Jambi terdiri dari berbagai suku agama yang memiliki keimanan kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa.
2. Sebuah senapan berbentuk Sidjimat berwarna kuning emas terletak pada bagian tengah atas perisai, melambangkan pusaka kerajaan Jambi yang ditemukan Orang Kayo Hitam pada saat membuka Lahan Tanah Pilih yang merupakan cikal bakal Kota Jambi pada saat ini.
3. Sebuah gong yang bernama Sitimang berwarna kuning emas digantungkan pada laras senapan, melambangkan pusaka kerajaan Jambi yang ditemukan Orang Kayo Hitam pada saat membuka lahan Tanah Pilih yang merupakan cikal bakal Kota Jambi.
4. Sepasang angsa berwarna kuning emas yang sedang berenang di sungai, angsa tersebut menghadap ke kanan dan terletak pada sebelah kiri perisai, melambangkan perjalanannya yang bergerak dari hulu ke hilir menyusuri Sungai

sedang berenang, dan di antara garis-garis tebal itu terdapat garis tipis berwarna putih melambangkan luas wilayah Kerajaan Jambi terdahulu yang meliputi 9 (sembilan) buah Lurah dialiri oleh anak-anak sungai (batang) yang bernama : a. Batang Asai f. Batang Jujuhan
b. Batang Merangin g. Batang Bungo
c. Batang Tabir h. Batang Tebo
d. Batang Masurai i. Batang Tembesi e. Batang Senamat
6. Sebatang pohon pinang berwarna hijau terletak pada bagian kanan perisai melambangkan asal istilah dalam bahasa Jambi “Djambe”. Dahulu merupakan nama Daerah Karesidenan Jambi dan saat ini dipakai untuk nama Provinsi Jambi dan Kota Jambi.
7. Keris Siginjai adalah sebilah keris berwarna kuning emas yang bagian ujungnya menghadap ke atas terletak di tengah perisai bagian bawah, melambangkan kebesaran serta kepahlawanan Raja dan Sultan Jambi, karena barang siapa yang memiliki keris tersebut maka dialah yang diakui sebagai penguasa atau berkuasa untuk memerintah Kerajaan Jambi.
8. Enam buah garis tebal berwarna hijau yang terletak di bawah pohon pinang melambangkan wilayah Kota Jambi dahulu terdiri dari enam kecamatan sesuai SK Gubernur Jambi No. 9 A / I / 1965 tanggal 5 Juni 1965.
9. Tanah Pilih Pesako Betuah secara pada hakekatnya mengandung pengertian : a. Kota Jambi berasal dari tanah yang dipilih oleh Raja Jambi untuk dijadikan
pusat pemerintahan Kerajaan Melayu, mempunyai nilai-nilai sejarah yang sangat berharga, dijaga dan dipelihara untuk diwariskan pada anak cucu.
b. Menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat Kota Jambi yang rukun, damai, aman, makmur dan sejahtera lahir batin karena memakai pola hidup gotong royong.
Secara filosofis Tanah Pilih Pesako Betuah mengandung pengertian bahwa Kota Jambi sebagai pusat pemerintahan kota, Ibukota Provinsi Jambi merupakan pusat kegiatan sosial ekonomi dan kebudayaan. Jiwa masyarakat Kota Jambi merupakan duta kesatuan individu, keluarga, kelompok serta secara institusional yang lebih luas. Masyarakat Kota Jambi berpegang teguh dan terikat pada nilai- nilai adat istiadat dan hukum adat serta peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku.

Meaning of Jambi City Symbol :
The whole Jambi City Symbol is depicting history, philosophy and geological identity of Jambi Kingdom greatness. In detail the meaning of the symbol of the city of Jambi is as follows:
1. White pentagonal represents Jambi City society composed of various tribes and religions who have faith in God Almighty.
2. A gun-shaped yellow gold Sidjimat located at the top center of the shield, symbolizing royal heritage Jambi found by Orang Kayo Hitam at the time of opening the “Tanah Pilih”, which is the forerunner of Jambi City at this time.
3. A yellow gold gong named Sitimang suspended from the barrel of a gun, symbolizing royal heritage Jambi Kayo Black People found when clearing the
“Tanah Pilih’ which is the forerunner of the city of Jambi.
4. A pair of yellow gold swan swimming in the river, the swan facing to the right and is located on the left side of the shield, symbolizing the journey that moves from upstream to downstream along the Batang Hari River before finding “Tanah Pilih”.

6. A green areca tree located on the right side of the shield symbolizes the origin of the term in the language of Jambi "Djambe". Formerly a regional name Jambi Residency and currently being used for the name of Jambi Province and Jambi city.
7. Keris Siginjai is a yellow gold dagger which its end facing up is located in the center of the bottom of the shield, symbolizing the greatness and heroism of King and the Sultan of Jambi, because he who has the dagger then he is recognized as the authority or power to govern the kingdom of Jambi.
8. Six thick green line located under areca tree symbolizes the ancient city of Jambi region consists of six districts according Jambi Governor Decree No. 9 A / I / 1965 dated June 5, 1965.
9. Tanah Pilih Pesako Betuah are essentially comprises:
a. Jambi City comes from the land chosen by the King to be the center of Malay Kingdom government, have values that are very valuable historical, preserved and maintained for the children and grandchildren to be inherited.
b. Describes the life of the people of Jambi City are harmonious, peaceful, secure, prosperous materially and spiritually for applying mutual cooperation lifestyle.
Philosophically, Tanah Pilih Pesako Betuah implies that Jambi City as the governmental center, the capital of Jambi Province is the center of social, economic and cultural activities. Jambi City community mental are united by ambassador individuals, families, groups and the wider institutional. Jambi City society cling and tied to the values of the customs, law and legislation in force.

Penerbitan publikasi KOTA JAMBI DALAM ANGKA 2014 merupakan penyajian yang sama seperti pada tahun sebelumnya dengan referensi waktu tahun 2013. Dalam publikasi ini disajikan berbagai informasi yang ada dalam wilayah Kota Jambi. Informasi yang tersaji meliputi potensi alam/pertanian, kependudukan, pemerintahan, dan informasi sosial – ekonomi.
Sumber data dalam publikasi ini berasal dari data primer maupun data sekunder. Data primer merupakan data yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan statistik BPS pada saat Survei dan Kompilasi. Sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui instansi dan lembaga teknis yang berada di Kota Jambi.

Sources of data in this publication are from primary data and secondary data.
Primary data is data obtained through statistical activities at the BPS surveys and compilations. While the secondary data obtained through agencies and technical institutions in the Jambi City.

I. LETAK GEOGRAFIS
Kota Jambi sebelah utara, barat, selatan dan timur berbatasan dengan kabupaten Muaro Jambi, dengan kata lain Kota Jambi ini wilayahnya dikelilingi oleh kabupaten Muaro Jambi.
Kota Jambi berada pada ketinggian rata-rata 10 sampai 60 meter di atas permukaan laut. Secara geografis posisi Kota Jambi berada pada :

I. GEOGRAPHICAL
The border of northern, southern, eastern and western of Jambi City is Muaro Jambi Regency. It means that Jambi City is located within the territory of Muaro Jambi Regency.
The average altitude of Jambi City is 10 to 60 meters above sea level, which located between:

Kota Jambi terdiri dari 8 (delapan) kecamatan dan 62 (enam puluh dua) kelurahan.
Ibu Kota Kabupaten yang terdekat dari Kota Jambi adalah Sengeti, yaitu Ibu Kota Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dengan Jarak 27 km. Untuk selengkapnya dapat dilihat di tabel 1.2.

The nearest Regency Capital from Jambi City is Sengeti, which is the capital of Muaro Jambi Regency with a distance of 27 km. More information can be seen in Table 1.2.

I. KEADAAN IKLIM
Selama tahun 2013 rata-rata suhu di Kota Jambi berkisar antara 26,0˚C sampai 27,7˚C. Dengan suhu maksimum 34,9˚C yang terjadi pada bulan Juni dan suhu minimum 21,0˚C terjadi pada bulan Desember.
Curah hujan di Kota Jambi selama tahun 2013 beragam antara 29,1 mm sampai 326 mm, dengan jumlah hari hujan antara 10 hari sampai 23 hari per bulannya.
Kecepatan angin di tiap bulan hampir merata antara 16 knots hinggai 28 knots.
Sedangkan rata-rata kelembaban udara berkisar 80% - 86%.

II. CLIMATE
In 2013, the average of temperature in Jambi City rangedfrom 26,0˚C to 27,7˚C. The maximum temperature was 34,9˚C that happened in June, and the minimum temperature was 21,0˚C in December.
Rainfall in Jambi City was varied greatly by month, the rainfall in 2013 ranged from 29,1 mm to 326 mm, with the rainy days ranged from 10 until 23 days per month.
The wind velocities in every month were spread evenly, ranged from 16 knots to 28 knots, average humidity are ranged from 80% to 86%.
