Keywords:pragmatic, speech act, Thor movie

This research analyzed speech act which were expressed by Thor as the main character in Thormovie. That movie showed a candidate of king who was banished by his father because of his arrogant characteristic, so, there were many speech act which represented real life. Considering there are problems in English language learning focusing on speech act, so this study was conducted used pragmatics analysis. The purposes of this study were to classify speech act based on Searle’s theory and analyze speech act which has relation between the form and the function of the sentence.

This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data which were used in this research were the utterances that were performed by the main character in the movie script in collaboration with the real movie. The data analysis used pragmatics approach with theory by Searle. From the theory, there are 5 classifications of speech act, representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. There are 2 types of speech act which is discussed by Searle, direct and indirect.

Penelitian ini meneliti tindak tutur yang diucapkan oleh Thor sebagai pemeran utama dalam filmThor. Film tersebut menggambarkan calon raja yang diasingkan oleh ayahnya karena sifatnya yang arogan, sehingga banyak tindak tutur yang menggambarkan kehidupan nyata. Mengingat masih adanya masalah dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris mengenai tindak tutur, maka diadakan penelitian ini menggunakan analisis pragmatis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan klasifikasi tindak tutur berdasarkan teori dari Searle dan menganalisis tindak tutur yang berkaitan dengan bentuk pengucapan dan kaitannya dengan fungsi kalimat.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Data-data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kalimat-kalimat yang diucapkan oleh tokoh utama yang berasal dari naskah film yang dikolaborasikan dengan film aslinya. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan pragmatis dengan teori dari Searle. Dalam teori terdapat 5 klasifikasi dalam tindak tutur, representative, directive, commissive, expressive, dan declarative. Ada 2 tipe tindak tutur yang dijabarkan oleh Searle, yaitu

directdanindirect.

Berdasarkan analisis, penulis menemukan dari kelima klasifikasi hanya di ucapkan 4 oleh tokoh utama, representative, directive, commissive, dan expressive. Representative
