KONFORMITAS DENGAN PERILAKU KONSUMTIF TERHADAP PEMBELIAN JILBAB PADA MAHASISWI

Indonesia merupakan Negara Muslim terbesar didunia, dimana saat ini fenomena yang sedang trendi di kalangan wanita muslim Indonesia adalah jilbab. Salah satu bukti pesatnya perkembangan mode jilbab di Indonesia adalah munculnya berbagai merek seperti Dian Pelangi, Rabbani, Aliya, Zoya dan masih banyak lagi merek lainnya. Target produsen jilbab salah satunya adalah mahasiswi. Menurut Hela dkk, (2013) Jilbab yang mereka pakai merambah pada suatu gaya hidup berjilbab modern dan mengikuti trendi yang sedang populer dimasyarakat, sehingga jilbab menjadi suatu koleksi dan mengakibatkan perburuan belanja perilaku konsumtif. Menurut Sumartono (2002) munculnya perilaku konsumtif disebabkan oleh faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor eksternal yang berpengaruh pada perilaku konsumtif individu adalah kebudayaan, kelas sosial, kelompok-kelompok sosial dan referensi serta keluarga. Dacey & Kenny (1997) mengatakan bahwa kelompok referensi sangat erat kaitannya dengan kelompok sosial, dalam hal ini yang termasuk kedalam kelompok referensi adalah kelompok pertemanan sebaya. Mahasiswi yang berada dibawah tekanan kelompok cenderung untuk konformitas, untuk menilai, meyakini atau bertindak sesuai dengan penilaian, keyakinan atau tindakan kelompok teman sebayanya (Santrock, 1998). Menurut Myers (2005) konformitas adalah perubahan perilaku ataupun keyakinan agar sama dengan orang lain.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif terhadap pembelian jilbab pada 100 orang mahasiswi. Metode analisa yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif sebesar (r = 0,693). Kemudian dari hasil kategorisasi didapatkan bahwa konformitas subjek penelitian berada pada kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 69 orang (69%),dan perilaku konsumtif subjek penelitian berada pada kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 66 orang (66%).

CONFORMITY OF CONSUMPTIVE BEHAVIOR TOWARD THE HIJAB PURCHASE ON FEMALE STUDENTS

Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim country, in which hijab is currently a trendy phenomenon among Indonesian Muslim woman. One evidence of the rapid development of hijab fashion in Indonesia is the emergence of a variety of brands such as Dian Pelangi, Rabbani, Aliya, Zoya and many other brands. One of the manufacturing target of hijab is students. According to Hela et al, (2013) The hijab they wear penetrated to a modern lifestyle by following the trend in the community, so that hijab became a new interest to collect and resulted in the hunt shopping for consumtive behavior. According Sumartono (2002) the emergence of consumtive behavior was caused by internal and external factors. External factors that affect the individual consumer behavior are the cultural, social classes, social groups and references as well as families. Dacey and Kenny (1997) said that the reference group is closely associated with social groups, in this case they are included the group of friends of the same age. Student who is under pressure groups is likely to conform, to judge, to believe or act in accordance with the judgment, belief or action of the peer groups. (Santrock, 1998). According to Myers (2005) conformity is a change in behavior or belief in order to cooperate with others.
This study aimed to examine the relationship between conformity and the consumptive behavior toward the hijab purchase on 100 female students. The analytical method used was the simple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior of (r = 0.693). From the categorization, it was found that the conformity of the research subjects was in middle category, namely 69 people (69%), while the consumptive behavior of subject research was in middle category, namely people (66%).
