Language is an important device and a very beneficial tool for human being to communicate with other people. When people have a communication, there occurs utterances. Utterance means what is said by any one person before or after another person begins to speak. People perform action through that utterance. Action performed via utterances are usually called speech acts. In the study of English, students of English Education Department still have difficulties in understanding and comprehending some utterances. To understand what the word mean and what the speaker or hearer express is not easy, in this case is illocutuionary act. Utterance can be found in the dialogue of a movie. It is written in the form of movie script. In the dialogue of a movie there are complete forms of speech act and there will be illocutionary act
The objectives of this research are as follows (i) To describe the illocutionary acts found in the movie script of “Iron Man 3” by Shane Black. (ii) To describe the speech acts’ classification of functions found in the movie script of “Iron Man 3” by Shane Black.
The design of the research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research are illocutionary acts expressed by the main characters. Meanwhile, the data source will be taken from the movie script of “Iron Man 3” by Shane Black which contain illocutionary acts.
The result of this research (i) There are 19 types of illocutionary acts in which they are: stating, promising, admiring, asserting, declaring, questioning, giving compliment, requesting, apologizing, congratulating, welcoming, announcing, ordering, suggesting, like, showing pleasure, thanking, greeting, and concluding (ii) There are 114 utterances which contain the speech acts’ classification of function, they are: representatives (15); directives (54); commisives (30); declarations (3); and expressives (12).
Based on the result of the research above, the teacher an use this research as a reference or example and give contribution in the teaching and learning process. For the students, especially the sudents of English Education Department who have studied illocutionary act, the research can be used as one of reference in studying speech act, its types and classification of functions. or further researchers who are interested in investigating illocutionary act, it can be a reference for conducting other related reserach

Kata kunci : Tindak tutur, tindak ilokusi, klasifikasi fungsi dari tindak tutur Bahasa adalah alat yang penting dan bermanfaat bagi manusia untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Ketika orang sedang berkomunikasi, maka timbullah beberapa ungkapan. Ungkapan adalah apa yang diucapkan seseorang sebelum atau sesudah seseorang itu berbiara. Orang biasanya melakukan tindakan melalui ungkapan tersebut. Tindakan yang dilakukan melalui ungkapan tersebut dinamakan tindak tutur. Dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, beberapa mahasiswa mash mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami serta memaknai beberapa ungkapan. Tidaklah mudah untuk memahami antara makna kata serta ungkapan yang diucapkan oleh pembicara dan pendengar, dalam hal ini tindak ilokusi. Unkapan dapat ditemukan pada dialog yang terdapat di dalam sebuah film. Ungkapan tersebut ditulis dalam bentuk naskah film. Di dalam sebuah dialog film, terdapat bentuk yang sempurna dari tindak tutur yang memungkinkan adanya tindak ilokusi.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (i) Untuk menjelaskan apa saja tindak ilokusi yang terdapat pada naskah film Iron Man 3 oleh Shane Black. (ii) Untuk menjelaskan apa saja klasifikasi fungsi dari tindak tutur yang terdapat pada naskah film Iron Man 3 oleh Shane Black.
Desain dari penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah tindak ilokusi yang diungkapkan oleh para pemeran utama. Sementara itu, sumber data diperoleh dari naskah film Iron Man 3 oleh Shane Black yang terdapat tindak ilokusi.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (i) Terdapat 19 jenis tindak ilokusi yaitu menyatakan, menjanjikan, mengagumi, menegaskan, mengumumkan, bertanya, memuji, meminta, memohon maaf, memberi selamat, menyambut, mengumumkan, memerintahkan, menyarankan, menyatakan suka, mengungkapkan kesenangan, berterima kasih, memberi salam, dan menyimpulkan. (ii) Terdapat 114 ungkapan yang termasuk di dalam klasifikasi fungsi dari tindak tutur yaitu: representatif (15); direktif (54); komisif (30); declarations (3); and ekspresif (12).
Untuk para pengajar ataupun mahasiswa yang sedang belajar tentang tindak tutur, mereka dapat menggunakan penelitian ini sebagai referensi dan contoh untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar. Untuk para peneliti yang tertarik dalam meneliti tindak ilokusi, skripsi ini dapat menjadi referensi untuk membuat penelitian lain yang sejenis.
