Skripsi ini berjudul, Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes terhadap Pengusungan Jokowi Sebagai Capres dari PDIP untuk Pilpres 2014 pada Sampul Majalah Berita Mingguan (MBM) Tempo “MENIMANG JOKOWI” edisi 9-15 September 2013. Pembimbing utama Dian Wardiana S., Drs., M.Si. dan pembimbing pendamping Pandan Yudhapramesti, S. Sos, MT. Jurusan Jurnalistik, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui makna denotasi, makna konotasi, mitos dan ideologi yang muncul dari karikatur dalam sampul MBM Tempo “MENIMANG JOKOWI” edisi 9-15 September 2013.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karikatur tersebut merepresentasikan pengusungan Jokowi sebagai capres dari PDIP untuk Pilpres 2014. Belum ada keputusan, namun ia menjadi nama yang paling santer disebut menjadi bakal capres dari PDIP dalam hajatan politik lima tahunan tersebut.
Denotasi yang kentara dari karikatur yaitu sesosok pria paruh baya tertawa sumringah duduk nyaman di atas banteng, seorang wanita gemuk mengenakan blus v-neck merah menenteng banteng tersebut, dan banteng jantan bertanduk kekar dengan
ekspresi kikuk yang tampak patuh dituntun wanita tersebut. Ketiganya berlatarkan warna hitam yang berangsur-angsur menjadi abu-abu dan di sebelah kiri ketiganya termuat frasa “MENIMANG JOKOWI” berwarna putih.

perlambang PDIP, partai pengusung yang seakan menjadi tunggangan bagi Jokowi untuk memuluskan manuver politiknya menjadi RI-1.
Mitos yang timbul dari karikatur adalah Megawati terpaksa mengusung Jokowi untuk maju dalam Pilpres 2014 demi masa depan PDIP yang lebih baik.
Ideologi yang muncul adalah ideologi kekuasaan. Tempo merepresentasikan pengusungan Jokowi sebagai capres dari PDIP untuk Pilpres 2014 hanya tinggal menunggu waktu dengan menampilkan Jokowi seolah sebagai pemegang kendali PDIP.
Simpulan penelitian ini adalah Tempo berusaha mengukuhkan “adidaya” mutlak Joko Widodo di PDIP khususnya. Kehadiran Jokowi inilah yang menjadi antiklimaks kepemimpinan Megawati Soekarnoputri dan trah Soekarno.

Semiotics Analysis of the Representation of PDIP’s Appointment for Jokowi as 2014 Presidential Election Candidate on the Cover of the Weekly News Magazine Tempo “MENIMANG JOKOWI” 9-15th September 2013 edition. This research used the qualitative research method with the analytic semiotics
technique of Roland Barthes. Purpose of this research is meant to understand the
meaning of denotation, connotation, myths and ideology that appeared on the
Tempo’s weekly news magazine cover caricature “MENIMANG JOKOWI” 9-15th September 2013 edition.
Research results show the carricatures represent appointment of Joko Widodo
as presidential candidate by Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) for the 2014 presidential election. There has been no decision, but he became the most
widely known names will be the presidential candidate of PDIP in the five-yearly
political party.
Denotation which obvious from the caricatures is figure of middle-aged men
laughing and sitting comfortably on top of a bull, a plump woman wearing a red
v-neck blouse carrying the bull, horned muscular bull with clumsy expression looking
dutifully guided by the woman. All three are set in black color which gradually
became gray and the left third contained the phrase “MENIMANG JOKOWI” in
white.

which seemed to bearer party for Jokowi to smooth his political maneuvering to
become Indonesian president.
The myths that came from caricatures mentioned Megawati was forced to
carry the Jokowi for the 2014 Presidential Election ahead in the future for the sake of
a better PDIP.
Ideology that emerged is the ideology of power. Tempo represent PDIP’s appointment for Jokowi as 2014 Presidential Election Candidate only a matter of
time and showing Jokowi seemed to be controlling PDIP.
The summary obtained from this research is Tempo tries to establish absolute “superpower”of Joko Widodo at PDIP in particular. The presence of the Jokowi this is what being anticlimactic leadership of Megawati Soekarnoputri and Soekarno
breeds.
Writer suggests, it would be more elegant if Tempo has asserted its commitment about the neutrality so as to uphold the position of the press as the
