Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara gratitude dengan psychological well-being pada ibu yang memiliki anak tunagrahita.Dalam penelitian ini, pengambilan data
menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasi Product Moment dari Carl Pearson.Hipotesis pada penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan positif antara gratitude dengan psychological well-being padaibu yang memiliki anak tunagrahita.Skala pertama yang digunakan
adalahRyff’s psychological well-being scale yang disusun oleh Ryff (1989) dengan aspek antara lain: penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, otonomi, penguasaan lingkungan, tujuan hidup, pertumbuhan pribadi. Skala ini terdiri dari 42 item dengan reliabilitas (α)0,848. Skala kedua yang digunakan adalah The Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form(GQ-6) yangdisusun oleh McCullough dan Emmons (2002) dan skala ini memiliki 6 item dengan
reliabilitas (α) 0,82. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 51 ibu yang memiliki anak
tunagrahita yang bersekolah di SLB Negeri Salatiga. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara gratitude dan psychological well-being dengan hasil r= 0.322 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,011 (p<0,05) yang artinya semakin tinggi gratitude maka semakin tinggi pula psychological well-being, begitu sebaliknya. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa gratitude memberikan sumbangan sebesar 10,37% yang artinya 89,63% PWB ibu yang memiliki anak tunagrahita masih dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain.
ii Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between gratitude to the psychological well-being
in mothers of children with mental retardation. In this study, data retrieval using quantitative
methods and the correlation technique of Carl Pearson Product Moment. The hypothesis in this
study is a positive relationship between gratitude to the psychological well-being in mothers of
children with mental retardation. The first scale used is Ryff's psychological well-being scale
compiled by Ryff (1989) with aspects such as: self-acceptance, positive relations with others,
autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, personal growth. The scale of this consists of
42 items with reliability (α) 0.848. The second scale used is The Gratitude Questionnaire-Six
Item Form (GQ-6) prepared by McCullough and Emmons (2002) and the scale has six items
with reliability (α) 0.82. The sample in this study were 51 mothers of children with mental
retardation who attend school in extraordinary school Salatiga. The results of this study indicate
that there is a significant positive relationship between gratitude and psychological well-being
with the result r = 0322 with a significance value of 0.011 (p <0.05), which means the higher the
gratitude the higher the psychological well-being, and vice versa , Results showed that gratitude
contributed 10.37% which means that 89.63% PWB mothers of children with mental retardation
are still influenced by other factors.
