SKIM PERKALIAN BILANGAN PECAHAN KELAS VI

SD NEGERI LOPAIT 02 TUNTANG

ABSTRACT

This research is a descriptive qualitative study aimed to determine the fraction multiplication

scheme on six graders Lopait 02 Tuntang State. Subjects in this study consisted of 7

Elementary School sixth grade students Lopait 02 Tuntang. Data collection techniques in this

study using in-depth interviews and a clinical interview. The data obtained and analyzed by

data analysis techniques of Miles and Hubberman namely data reduction, the data display,

and conclusion drawing. The results showed there were 12 schemes multiplying fractions of

the students, including a horizontal division multiplication scheme, over-divided under

multiplication scheme, simplification scheme, the removal of the same number scheme,

multiply all the numbers scheme, another operation scheme, over-multiplication

multiplication down scheme, multiplication over scheme, cross multiplication results scheme,

the results of the cross-multiplication denominators scheme, multiplication guessing scheme,

and changing shape scheme. Meaning and thought processes of students as a continuation of

previous studies on multiplication of natural numbers scheme, this multiplication is solved by

means of a double decker, multiplication by grouping numbers using fingers, multiplication

as repeated addition, understanding fractions, the conversion of ordinary fractions into

decimal fractions, and the division of two numbers in fractions and fractions simplification

process .
