Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penurunan tingkat kualitas hidup manusia sejalan dengan penurunannya volume dan kualitas air bersih yang ada di muka bumi. Pentingnya menjaga dan melestarikan lingkungan yang semakin mengalami kerusakan akibat ulah manusia yang tidak mempedulikan keberlangsungan sistem ekologis di masa yang akan datang. Salah satu kajian IPS adalah materi ekologis yang berhubungan dengan permasalahan sosial baik itu kerusakan alam dan krisis sumber daya alam berupa sumber daya air, tanah dan udara. Kecerdasan ekologis perlu ditanamkan sejak dini agar siswa dapat menghargai dan memperlakukan air dengan baik yang ada di alam lingkungan sekitarnya terutama sejak anak berada di bangku Sekolah Dasar. Namun nyatanya, penerapan kecerdasan ekologis dalam IPS SD masih sebatas pengetahuan, sedangkan kesadaran dan aplikasi siswa kurang dihayati dan diwujudkan dalam bentuk nyata dalam pelestarian air. Bentuk peningkatan kecerdasan ekologis pun belum mampu diwujudkan sepenuhnya karena proses pembelajaran yang disajikan belum menarik minat dan perhatian siswa. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kecerdasan ekologis siswa pada aspek pelestarian air melalui penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam pembelajran IPS. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 4 SDN Sukaperna I Kecamatan Talaga Kabupaten Majalengka dengan jumlah 21 siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model Kemmis dan Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian meunjukan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal pada pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan ekologis aspek pelestarian air. Hal ini terlihat dari persentase komponen pembentukan karakter kecerdasan ekologis aspek pelestarian air berupa pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan aplikasi yang terus meningkat pada tiap pertemuan dalam siklusnya. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang telah disusun terbukti bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan ekologis siswa pada aspek pelestarian air dalam pembelajaran IPS.

This research is motivated by a decrease in the level of quality of life alignedwiththe decrease in volume and quality of water on earth. The importance of maintaining and preserving the environment are getting damaged due to human activity that does not concern the sustainability of ecological systems in the future. One study of social studies is an ecological material related to social problems both natural damage and crisis of natural resources such as water resources, soil and air. Ecological intelligence needs to be fostered so that students can appreciate and treat the water with both in natural surrounding environment, especially since children are in elementary school. But in fact, the application of ecological intelligence in social studiesat elementary schoolare still limitedof knowledge, awareness and application while students are less understood and manifested ina real form in water conservation. Ecological intelligence improved form had not been able to be fully realized because the learning process is presented not attract the interest and attention of students. Generally, this study aims to determine students' improvement of ecological intelligence on aspects of water conservation through the application of the values local wisdom insocial studies learning. Subjects in this study are students in grade fourthof SDNSukaperna I districTalaga at Majalengka with the number of 21 students. The research method usedis Class Action Research with Kemmis and Taggart model. Data collection techniques use of observation, testing, documentation and field notes. The results showed that the application of the values of local wisdom in learning social study can increase the intelligence of the ecological aspects of water conservation. It is seen from the percentage component of intelligence character formation of ecological aspects water conservation in the form of knowledge, awareness, and applications continue to increase at every meeting in the cycle.Thereby, the hypothesis has been made proven that the application of the values of local wisdom can increase the intelligence of the students on the ecological aspects of water conservation in social studies learning.
