Language is the most important aspect in
humaninteraction.
It
is considered as a social process[. Estill
Alexander,1979:5).
According
to Ronald W. Langker (1973:134),language isa
systemof communication. Almost all the

languageplays the crucial role and it
helps the human being to expresswhat they think. According to

spokenin the world today belong to the Indo-European family which include
languagessuch as English,
Spanish, Portuguese, Russian andHindi; the Sino-Tibetan languages which include Mandarin
Chinese, Cantoneseand many
others; Semitic languageswhich include Arabic, Amharic and Hebrew; and the
Bantu languageswhich include Swahili, Zulu, Shona and hundreds of
other languages spoken throughoutAfrica
(Wikipedia, 2012).Among

communication becauseit
is used as a tool of communication among the nationsin all

school.It is taught from
elementary school,junior high

level. The main goal is to havethe

advance studentsin
science and technology.
English as International language has
two
major varieties,namely: British English
(BE)and American English
(AE). There are many differences both of them, such as differencesin
spelling,pronunciatiory abbreviations, vocabulary, and grammar.
Fornative
speaker, those differencesare not problem
because they understand about those differences. However, for countries whereEnglish is
asa foreign language such
as China, Iaparu France, Germany,Mexico,
Israel, Indonesia,and many
more/ sometimes become as a problem.Commonly,
IndonesianEnglish material and
teaching donot differentiate
betweenBritish English and American
English.Sometimes both are mixed. Therefore, students
sometimes become confused,which

incorrect.Finally,
theydoubt to

When look at the curri.culum of English lesson in Indonesia from basic up to the university, the
