Background: Pap smear is one type of inspection skirining early detection of cervical cancer in a simple, inexpensive, practical and easy. Simple means simply by taking swabs cervical cells and then examined under a microscope, the precancerous lesions can be seen diteksi when cells that are not normal. Practical means it can be done anywhere does not require special costs, quite simple beds representative, speculum and light. Easy, because it can be used by general practitioners, midwives, and nurses were trained.
Objective: to know the mother's behavior towards the implementation of a pap smear in the sub-district Puskesmas Soposurung Balige Toba Samosir.
Methods: The design used in this research is descriptive with cross sectional
approach is to determine the Mothers Against Execution Behavior Pap smear.Tehnik sampling is sampling total saturated ie sampling or sample the entire population used as a sample, the sample in this study as many as 67 people ,
Results: In this study, the majority of respondents obtained a good knowledge as much as 40 people (59.7%), the majority being positive as many as 66 people (98.5%), and the majority of act No (Not applicable) are as many as 39 people (58.2% ).
Conclusion: The results of this study can be seen the action the majority of women do not perform pap smears. It is suggested that a midwife for more care to the community or the mother that pap smears can be accomplished.
