ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING FOR
UMKM IN THE SURROUNDING OF WATES CAMPUS

In Pengasih Sub-district, Pengasih district, and Kulon Progo Regency, there are many potential businesses which haven’t been developed yet. This sub-district is located at the edge of the developing city. Moreover, this site is located next to Yogyakarta State University. The people living in this sub-district have different level of education. However the number of dropout students in this area is high. This condition causes the increase of unemployment in that area. This problem must be solved. One of the ways to reduce the unemployment is by creating a field work through entrepreneurship. There are many entrepreneurs in Pengasih sub-district but their business does not develop due to lack of entrepreneurship knowledge. They don’t have sufficient knowledge about entrepreneurship so that they don’t have bravery to expand their business. This training is aimed at supporting the entrepreneurs in Pengasih in order that they can develop their business.
To meet the goals, the trainings are conducted for the entrepreneurs in Pengasih by the following ways. First, the data are collected while getting permission from the people in Pengasih Sub-district to conduct a community service activity. The training program is then formulated by giving training about entrepreneurship and giving some supporting equipments for developing their business.
