Hubungan Self-Compassion dengan Subjective Well-Being pada Mahasiswa USU Khadhra Ulfah1 dan Juliana IrmayantiSaragih2
ABSTRAK
Di dalam kehidupannya mahasiswa akan selalu menghadapi tantangan-tantangan, baik dalam bentuk peristiwa positif maupun peristiwa negatif. Kedua peristiwa tersebut akan mempengaruhi bagaimana reaksi emosi dan kognitif mereka, yang mana hal tersebut akanmempengaruhi kualitas tingkat subjective well-being yang dimiliki. Oleh karena itu, sebagai agen perubahan dan harapan bangsa, mahasiswa dirasa perlu untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam menghadapi peristiwa negatif dengan cara yang positif agar kualitas tingkat subjective well-being nya tetap terjaga.Self-compassion adalah salah satu kemampuan yang diperkirakan akan membantu mahasiswa dalam mempertahankan kualitas tingkat subjective well-being, karena dengan self-compassion mahasiswa tetap dapat menerima diri mereka dalam menghadapi peristiwa negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara self-compassion dengan subjective well-beingterhadap 344 mahasiswa di Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel bertahap. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi skala self-compassion dari Kristin Neff dan skala subjective well-being yang didalamnya termasuk skala evaluasi afektif yaitu Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) dan skala kepuasan hidup yaitu SatisfactionwithLife Scale (SWLS) dari Ed Diener. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian korelasi antara self-compassion dengan subjective well-being diperoleh koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.506 dengan level signifikansi 0.000 (p < 0.05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara self-compassion dengan subjective well-being.

Self-Compassion and Its Relationship with Subjective Well-Being In College Students of Universitas Sumatera Utara

ABSTRACT
College students in their life will always face challenges, whether in the form of positive events and negative events.Both of these events will affecttheir emotional and cognitive reactions,and determine the quality level of subjective well-being they have.Therefore, as an agent of change and hope of the nation, it is necessary for college students to develop their own skills in facing negative events in a positive way so that the quality level of subjective well-being is maintained. Self-compassion is one of many abilities that is expected to assist college students in maintaining their quality level of subjective well-being, because self-compassion helps them to accept themselves in facing negative events.This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-compassion with subjective well-being of the 344 college students at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and were selected using multi-stage sampling techniques. The data was displayed through the scales based on adaptation from Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) by Kristin Neff and Subjective Well-Being Scale that includes Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) by Ed Diener. Based on the results of research analysis of the correlation between self-compassion with subjective well-being, correlation coefficient was obtained for 0.506 with a significance level of 0.000 (p <0.05). This result indicates that there is a relationship between self-compassion and subjective well-being.
