iii ABSTRAK
Tanaman kumis kucing (Orthosiphon stamineus Benth.), sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Park.)

ABSTRACT
The Java tea (Orthosiphon stamineus Benth.), breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis (Park.) Fosb.), and Touch-Me-Not (Mimosa pudica L.) plants have been used traditionally as antihyperuricemia remedies. This study was aimed at investigating the effect of the ethanolic extracts of Java tea leaves, breadfruit leaves, and the Touch-Me-Not herb on the uric acid levels of white male Swiss Webster mice that were given potassium oxonate (300mg/kg BB) intraperitoneally and chicken liver juice (100%) orally to induce hyperuricemia. The uric acid levels of the mice were measured using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. The results of this study showed that the ethanolic extracts of all three plants at a 500mg/kg BW dose exhibited antihyperuricemic activity (p< 0,05). The Java tea leaf extract had the best activity with the highest uric acid level reduction percentage at 52,672±7,866%. This was followed by the Touch-me-not herb extract (42,940±7,994%), and breadfruit leaf extract (36,266±6,432%).
