FITRI RAHMI : Pengaruh Berbagai Intensitas Naungan Terhadap Pertumbuhan PropagulRhizophora apiculata di Desa Jaring Halus, Kecamatan Secanggang, Kabupaten Langkat. Dibimbing oleh YUNASFI dan MOHAMMAD BASYUNI

Rhizophora apiculata merupakan tumbuhan mangrove yang memiliki

perakaran yang rapat dan kuat serta mampu menahan gelombang laut. Kini keberadaan R. apiculatasemakin habis. Satu diantara beberapa usaha yang dilakukan untuk merehabilitasi hutan mangrove adalah pembibitan R. apiculata. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui intensitas naungan yang baik untuk pertumbuhan R. apiculata. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Jaring Halus, Kecamatan Secanggang, Kabupaten Langkat dan di Laboratorium Biologi Tanah, Program Studi Agroekoteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari − April 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan 5 perlakuan, yaitu intensitas naungan (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%) yang diulang sebanyak 5 sehingga diperoleh 25 unit percobaan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan respons R. apiculatadengan intensitas naungan yang diberikan berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi, jumlah helai daun, luas daun total, persentase hidup dan persentase mortalitas. Tinggi bibit terbesar pada R. apiculatadengan intensitas naungan 75% sebesar 22.32 cm. Diameter terbesar pada R. apiculatatanpa naungan yaitu sebesar 0.496 cm. Jumlah helai daun terbesar pada bibit R. apiculatadengan intensitas naungan 75% sebanyak 6 helai. Luas daun total bibit terbesar pada R. apiculatadengan intensitas naungan 75% sebesar 135.02 cm2. Biomassa total terbesar pada R. apiculatadengan intensitas naungan 25% sebesar 1.59g.Persentase hidup terbesar pada R.

apiculatadengan intensitas naungan 50% dan 75% sebesar 100%.

ABSTRACT

FITRI RAHMI: Effect of VariousShade Intensity on growth of Rhizophora apiculata propagule in the Village of Jaring Halus, District Secanggang, Langkat. Supervised by YUNASFI and MOHAMMAD BASYUNI

Rhizophora apiculata mangrove is a plant that has a denser rooting genius and strong and able to withstand the waves of the sea. Now the presence of R. apiculata is depleted. One of the efforts to rehabilitate the forest mangrove is doing seedbedR. apiculata. This study aims to determine the intensity of the shade is good for the growth of R. apiculata. The study was conducted in the village of Jaring Halus, District Secanggang, Langkat Regency and in Soil Biology Laboratory, Agroekoteknologi Studies Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra held in January April 2014. Research using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 non-factorial treatment, the intensity of shade (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) were repeated by 5 to obtain 25 experimental units.

The results showed a response to the intensity R. apiculata given shade significantly affect height, number of leaves, total leaf area, the percentage of live and percentage mortality. Greatest height in R. apiculata seedlings with shade intensity 75% by 22.32 cm. The largest diameter in R. apiculata without shade that is equal to 0.496 cm. Greatest number of leaves of R. apiculata seedlings with shade intensity 75% by 6 strands. Largest total leaf area on R. apiculata seedlings with 75% shade intensity of 135.02 cm2. Largest total biomass in R. apiculata with 25% shade intensity of 1.59 g. Percentage greatest living on R. apiculata with shade intensity 50% and 75% at 100%.
