ABSTRACT
Darwin Silitonga "Analysis Coffee Plant Damage due to attacks by pests Hypothenemus hampei Ferr. (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) On Coffee Planting in North Tapanuli "under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ir. Darma Bakti, MS. and Ir. Fatima Zahara. This study aimed to analyze the coffee crop damage caused by H. hampei Ferr. the land of coffee plantations in North Tapanuli. The research was conducted in four districts and each district there are two village in January-March 2015. This study used purposive sampling method (sampling intentionally) with a multiple linear regression analysis is regression between the intensity of the attacks on the percentage of yield loss, regression between the intensity of the attacks population density and population density regression between the percentage of yield loss. The results showed that the intensity of pests on the coffee fruit has a significant relationship to the percentage of yield loss and population density at the coffee fruit, population density has a significant relationship to the percentage of yield loss. The highest intensity of attacks there are in the village of Arita amounted to 33.854% and the lowest was in the village of cockfighting skelter at 6.046%. The highest percentage of yield loss found in coffee cherries red with the average in the amount of 10.792% and the lowest green coffee cherries with the average amounting to 6.04%. The highest population density is in the larval stage by the average number of population ranged from 11.2 to 2.1 and the lowest in the pupa stage with the average number of population ranged from 4.45 to 0.88.
