ABSTRACT
A country must have goals of development. Development objectives are to improve the welfare and prosperity of society in the country. Welfare and prosperity of the community can be seen from the growth of its economy. Economic growth in a country affected by many factors. One of the most supportive factor for economic growth is investment. There are several variabels that affect investment. One of the most influential factor is the interest rate on investment.
This study aims to see the impact of interest rate of Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBI) on Indonesia Domestic Invesment. This study employes Vector Error CorrectionModel (VECM) to see the short-term and long-term effect of interest rate of Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBI) on the domestic investment.
The results show that the interest rate of Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBI) has a significant negative impact in both the short-term and log-term investment in Indonesia.
Suggestions for the Government of Indonesia is to reduce the interest rate of Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBI) to attract investors to invest in the country. If there are a lot of investors who are interested in investing in the country, it will affect the economic growth in the country to be more better.
