Pendahuluan: Akne vulgaris merupakan kondisi kulit akibat peradangan folikel pilosebasea dengan penyebab yang multifaktorial. Salah satu diantaranya adalah pemakaian kosmetik. Pekerja restoran dituntut untuk menggunakan kosmetik selama jam kerja dan ini cenderung menimbulkan akne vulgaris.Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prevalensi pemakaian kosmetik pekerja yang memiliki akne vulgaris dibeberapa restoran kota Medan.
Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan rancangan penelitian potong lintang. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling yang melibatkan seluruh pekerja Restoran. Dari 36pegawaiyang seluruhnya menjadi responden, didapatkan total subjek penelitian adalah 32 pegawaiyang sesuai dengan kriteria alur penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner.Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan progam komputer SPSS.
Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar dari pekerja Restoran 89% (32 responden) menggunakan kosmetik. Dari pekerja yang didiagnosis akne, diklasifikasikan menurut tingkat keparahan akne dan diperoleh bahwa 31% didiagnosis dengan akne berat, 31%lainnya didiagnosis akne sedang dan sisanya 38% didiagnosis dengan akne ringan.Diperoleh dari 32 responden dengan akne, 3 jenis kosmetik utama yang umum digunakan adalah bedak tabur 63%, bedak padat84%, pelembab75%, dan kosmetik pelengkap lainnya 84% seperti lipstick, pensil alis, eyeliner dan eyeshadow.
Kesimpulan: Pada penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa prevalensi pemakaian kosmetik pada pekerja restoran yang memiliki akne adalah 89% (32 responden).

Introduction:Acne vulgaris is a skin condition due to the inflammation of pilosebaceous follicle that has multifactorial causes. One of them is regarding the usage of cosmetic products. Both waitersand waitresses are required to apply cosmetics during the shifts and this intend leads to Acne vulgaris. Hence, the objectives of this research is to obtain the prevalency of those who applies cosmetics and at the same time is diagnosed with acne in few restaurants.
Methods: This is a descriptive study with cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used in this study is the total sampling which involves all waiters and waitresses.Among36 workerswho participate, there are 32 workersthat are qualified to be assessed in this research. The data was collected byhandling them a questionnaire. Consequently, data was analyzed using SPSS computer program. Results: The result shows that there is 89%(32 respondents) who apply cosmetics has acne. When they are classified according to the degree of severity, there is 38%who has mild acne, 31% has moderate acne, and the rest 31% is classified into mild acne. Based on the data obtained from 32 respondents with acne, three main types of cosmetics commonly used is powder 62%, compact powder 84%, moisturizer 75% and other complimentary products like lipstick, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and eyeshadow.
