Increasin-e human population, urbanization and incomes, coupled
with
changing consumer preferences are creating higher demand for industry and their products. Several problems facing this industry including feed price, breed and stock, prici
of
meat and
live
goat, ranchers'skill
and management and capital for rearing small ruminant. An
attempt has been made to explore the issues and challenges small ruminant ranchers and industryin
Peninsular Malaysia and privailing management practices at household level. A total of 600 ranchers in ten (10) states were selected as respondents in this study. The results indicated that, the major issues and challenges for the ranchersin
small ruminant industry were feed (71.3% respondents), disease (52.2% respondents) and capital (48.3 respondents). There is a need to develop small ruminant farming and find out the better solution for the major issues. ln addition, the involvement of the youths and women in the industry can be also one of the improving factors. Hence, government and private sector should pay great attention for the developmentof
small ruminant industry that can bring an interest to the ranchers and boost up farmers livelihood in Malaysia. Keywords: management, policy, production, rancher, small ruminant

Agricultural sector including rice production still plays an important role in the Bali economy despite of its worldwide known for its tourist destination. However rice production in Bali is susceptible to loss caused by flood, drought and pest and disease,
as well as from the climate change. Adaptation to climate change is required to minimize the risk along with the plans and strategies for food security and sustainable development. The govemment of Indonesia (GoI) has legal basis on the Farmer Protection and Empowerynent Act (Law N9. 1912013) to the implementation of agriculture insurance program to minimize the
risk
in
production failure. The GoI plansto
implement the insurance schemein
the beginningof
2015. Considering the importanceof
crop insuranceto
agriculture,this
study attemptsto
explore the potencyof
such insuranceto
identiffopporhrnities and challenges in agriculture insurance implementation in Bali. A sunrey was conducted on 100 farmers from two farmers' organizations (subak) to identifu the awareness and perception of farmers towards the insurance and adaptation to climate change. The study empirically presents awareness and perception of farmers towards the insurance and adaptation to vulnerability
of
climate change. The study concludeswith
various suggestionsfor
increasing the awarenessof
farmers for ensuring better penetation ofagriculture insurance in Bali.Kelnvords: ricefarming, agriculture insurance, farmer's awareness and perception

Background Vasavas are a
tribe from
Gujarat statein
India who haverich
traditionof
indigenous medicine and have traditionally practiced sustainable traditional subsistence farming. However, they are now economically and educationally deprived dueto
limited cash income sources.A
possible sustainable wayfor
their economic developmentis by
creating altemative income sourcesin
agricultureby
using their understandingof
medicinal plants. From an ethnobotanical study undertaken with this tribe, an informal self-help group, was established that promoted the cultivation of medicinal plants (MP) for generating additional cash income for them.Research Objective: 1. Elucidating factors influencing adoption of this technology
2.
Characterize growing environmentof
MP. In the first phase, we tried to find the intra-member differences that affect the intensity
of
adoption of MP cultivation technology as a source ofgenerating additional income.Methodology: Semi-structured questionnaire survey
was
conductedfor all
the
membersof
the
groupand
plants' ecophysiological data was collected in their agricultural field and/or home garden during February-March 2015, atDediapada-Results and discussion: One of the hlpothesis is that access to stable income in the family would affect the level of adoptionof
this technology. Previous knowledgeof
medicinal plant doesn't seemto
affect their decisionto
cultivate more plants. However the annual profitfiom
selling of cultivated of MP was higher for farmers with stable income. Characterizing suchfactors can lead us to find to better solutions for intensifzing level of adoption of cultivation of medicinal plants for generating higher income.
