Four-

hundred and

sixty-three

FFA members

filledthisespecially

important

roleat thenational convention.

By

actingas delegates, they served

on one

ofnine national

committees and made

recommendations

fortheNational

After

two days

of

in their committees, thedelegates'first

business session

approved

the68thNational

FFA Convention minutes and

the treasurer's report.

The

business

moved

into

committee

reports

beginning with

the Agricul- tural

Education Trends Committee.

One

ofthe

committee's main recom- mendations was

toestablish a profi- ciency

award

areainagricultural education.

The Chapter

Activities

Committee

report

caused some

discussion.

The

committee recommended adding

a sectiontothe

American FFA Degree

applicationfor

members

tolisttheir

community

serviceinvolvement.

They

also

recommended developing new Made

curriculum

focusing

on more hands-on

Making

During

Recommendations

involvingthe Internet also

to interact

with

other

members on

the

Internet

and

e-mail

by

establishinga

"live" chatline.

The Marketing and Merchandising Committee recom- mended

that

thebusiness session

an amendment was made

about

the tradition
