summarize the researcher's findings once they had been analyzed. The researcher utilized a short and basic explanation in this section to help the reader comprehend. The conclusion could potentially be an important aspect of the research debate.

RESEARCH FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
A. Research Findings
The researcher collected the data through interview and questionnaire. The researcher interviewed with English teachers at January 7th 2022 at SMPN 4 Bantimurung face to face and record it into voice note.
The researcher also collected the data from English teacher through questionnaire at January 10th 2022 by using paper.
1. What are the difficulties faced by English teachers’ in doing online assessment in teaching English during pandemics in SMPN 4 Bantimurung?
The researcher used interview to find out the research questionnumber one and conducted the interview with 4 of English Teachers’ whotaught in SMPN 4 Bantimurung. In this case, the researcher conducted the interview with English Teachers’because the researcher intended to gain deep information about whatare difficulties of English teachers’ in doing online assessment when the teachers’ doing it. The researcher did the interview on January, 07th 2022 in SMPN 4 Bantimurung. There are seven questions within interview which represent statement of online assessment and Teachers’ difficulties. The researcher conducted the interview in English and Bahasa in order to the Teachers’ get the meaning of it.
From the data, the researcher obtained through the interview English teachers’ at SMPN 4 Bantimurung and found from question number 1:

In table 1 above shows that problem faced by Teacher 1 similar with Teacher 3 it is about difficult to assess students attendance, it is different with Teacher 2 and Teacher 4 they are
difficult about students can’t absorb the knowledge of the teachers’
and students validity of assignment.
2. Is it difficult for you to overcome the problems faced in conducting online assessments?

Usually have video call with them for example on test, so we gave them vc to me, so I can know they can answer the questions individually without any people helping them.
In table 2 above shows that Teacher 1 had similar answer with Teacher 3 it is about difficult to overcome the problem conducting online assessment because many factors like students economy, it is different with Teacher 2 and Teacher 4 they are have another way to overcome the problem such as calling the students to come to school for discussion about material and video call routine with students.
3. Do you have difficulties using the platform assessment tools such as Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc?

In table 3 above shows that mostly teachers used WhatsApp and Google Classroom as online assessment platform and it’s quite easy to use for them. They are do not use Google Meet, or Zoom us because the internet connection is bad at students home so that is why the teachers only use WhatsApp and Google Classroom.

In table 4 above shows that all the teachers have same difficulties in assessing students validity of assignment or exam, they can’t know that the students do it by theirself or helping by others.

In table 5 above shows thatall the teachers’ have difficulties in assessing students affectiveness. Teacher 2 also add not only students affectiveness but also attitude, and students behavior are difficult to assess here and another difficulty faced by teachers’ when doing online assessment are the teachers’ difficult to assess student attendance because only 80% students attend the class. Beside that the teacher’ difficult to assess the students daily score and difficult to apply assessment technique that they always use when face to face.

For us as a teachers it’s quite easy because we just explain the matrial and then we gace them the test
or the
assignment, but I think it is quite difficult for the students to comperhen the lesson.
In table 6 above shows that three of four teachers thinks that design online assessment is easy for them, then one stated that is
difficult maybe because she unfamiliar about the online platform and this is the first time she tried online assessment after 20 years as a teachers.

In table 7 above shows that most of the teachers stated that it is difficult to assess students response and activeness while doing online assessment. Because the students did not respon to the material, they only read the material and answer the assignment. Teachers stated that knowing students response and activeness is quite easy when the teachers do it offline.
2. How is the implementation of online assessment by English teachers in SMPN 4 Bantimurung?
The online assessment of English lesson at SMPN 4 Bantimurung was implemented when pandemics happend. Before that the teachers implemented assessment as usual, such as formative assessment, summative assessment, authentic assessment, and conventional assessment in offline classs, because it was implemented as long as the learning process. Beside of that, this school had applied the online learning in this pandemic covid-19 situation by using some online applications.
To collect the data and knowing how is the implementation of online assessment in SMPN 4 Bantimurung I used open questionnaire, fourth English teachers fill the questionnaire.The data contained 8 items of questionnaire contained the statement favorable or positive and unfavorable or negative in English.
The result of first question about “is it a new thing implemented online assessment?”the teachers have positive and negative response about online assessment. Respondents gave a variety of responses when asked about their impressions of the online evaluation. Some of them stated that utilizing online assessment is a novel, intriguing, and useful idea, while others stated that using online assessment is a waste of time in teaching English during pandemics was too complicated, nervous and others. A teachers said it’s easy to asses students from
anywhere, and also a teachers said it’s not easy for her because she have been teaching in 20 years and this is the first time I implemented online assessment, assessment that she did not maximal.
From the data of question number two “What difficulties did you face in implementing the online assessment?” most of the teachers said that they difficult to use online application to assess students, they only using whatsapp, and google classroom they unfamiliar with zoom, google form, etc. In the other hand to knowing students kognitif it is more effective if the teachers using application which is have many fiturs.
Most of the statement in question number theree“Is it difficult to assess students learning outcomes during covid-19?”, yesthe teachers difficult to assess students learning outcomes, affective and students psychomotor. The teachers can’t know the capacity of the students before and after learning process.
From the question number four, most of the statement of the teachers “What application do you often use in learning during the covid-19? And is it difficult to use?”Most of the teachers used Google Classroom and WhatsApp, they thought that is easier to used then other platforms.
In question number five “What obstacles did you experience in assessing English in the covid-19 era?”According to Mrs. Alam, she said that “my obstacles did I experience in assessing English in covid-
19 era if there are students had not mobile phone and they had no quota” this is similar with other teachers obstacles when doing online assessment, students can’t join online classess so they had no score for assignment or examination. While there is a students have mobile phone, in another side several students are unfamiliar with the internet or the online assessment process.
In the other hand statement from question number six and number seven, “Is the implementation of online assessment effect students enthusiasm in studying?”and“Is the implementation of online assessment effect students response in studying?”most of the teachers stated that even the teachers giving the instruction,Implementation of online assessment also effect students enthusiasm and response in studying, student do not fully joined the class on WhatsApp, and they are less motivation. This is prove that onine assessment is not effective enough applying at SMPN 4 Bantimurung.
Furthermore statement from question number seven “Is it difficult to give to your feedback students in implementing online assessment?” the teachers stated that the were don’t difficult to give feedback for the students because after the material done the techers give some breaks to thestudents and open question so the students can asking and the teachers would give their feedback.The teachers also pleased for the students to go to school to meet them so the teachers
can give feedback for the assignments or material that students don’t understand.
B. Discussion
In this part, the research discusses findings difficulties faced by English teachers in doing online assessment in teaching English during pandemics and implementation of online assessment from interview and questionnaire. First difficulty faced by English teachers is about internet connection. The most effective strategy to combat the covid-19 pandemics to use technology to do online assessment. The technology, on the other hand, has flaws, such as an inconsistent internet connection. According to the findings of the investigation, practically all of the pupils had an unreliable internet connection. Unstable connections occur not just during the instructional process, but also when students complete online assessments. In this situation, the teacher frequently receives complaints from kids about the internet connection. To address this issue, the instructor can give pupils with fully equipped laboratories as well as internet connection (Alwurais, dkk 2018).However, this method does not address all of the issues. The unreliable connection is caused not just by an issue with the internet package, but also by a program that has been experiencing errors for some time. As a result, the teachers only utilize two systems to handle this problem: WhatsApp and Google Classroom, both of which have stronger internet connections in their locations than others.
The second difficulties faced by English teachers is the teachers difficult to assess students validity because to assess students daily score the teachers gave the students task via whatsapp then give them a few days to do the assignment, but there is problem, the teachers are difficult to know the validity of the students assignments. The validity of the students assignments and exam little bit crusial because the teachers do not know the students understand the material or not,whether the teachers succeeded in transferring his knowledge to the students or not.And from the statement that researcher got from informant theree the teachers don’t know how to identify students axam or assignment are cheating or not, So far the teacher can only assess whether or not the student's score is complete, whether it's an assignment or a examination. The teacher do not know the character of the students that is why the teacher think that it is difficult to assess students validity of assignment, Although some students may have cheated, this does not mean that they are all cheating. As in the previous study, students and teachers gain from online assessment since it reduces the time it takes to process and correct students' online assessment results, provides rapid feedback, and allows students to repeat the assessment (Paul Joyce, 2018). However, there are drawbacks to online assessments, such as the fact that it encourages pupils to cheat with a friend or look up the answer on the internet. As a result, teachers will have a hurdle throughout the online assessment.To overcome this problem, the teacher usually video call or call the students to go to school for discuss
and give the assignment so the teacher can know that the students do it by theirself or not.
The third difficulty faced by English teachers is Learning during the Covid-19 pandemic the teachers only focus on the cognitive assessment of students, so the teacher gives students assignments to carry out assessments, learning assessments are seen from the diligent work of students in collecting assignments every week and also from every week in learning to complete questions which are given. Beside that the teachers difficult to assess students atitude and behavior of the students.Assess students atitude and behavior be difficult things to do during online assessment because the teachers do it online and the teachers cant see how their atitude and behaviors during online learning.(Audina, dkk. 2018) stated thet student attitude competencies based on the 2013 Curriculum occur in an integrated manner as a accompanying effect during the student's process of followinglearning. Explicitly the attitudes that will be integrated during the learning process and assessed are stated in KI-1 (spiritual) and KI-2 (social). These attitudes should not be ignored by the teacher because they will be billed at the end of the learning activity, namely in the form of having to fill out report cards related to aspects of student attitudes.
Other difficulties experienced by teachers are difficult to do online assessment because many off students do not attended the class, the teacher difficult to assess students kognitif assessment. The teacher also
conclude that students don’t attend the class because they less of motivation in online classess, the students prefer to learn with their friends in face to face. Although learning process is done online, students are still required to be absent in class groups to monitor students in the following lessons. Absenteeism during this pandemic is different from the usual absences because to know the attendance of students, the teacher make a list for absent but many of the students only read the group and did not give any respons.The presence of students in participating in online learning is one of the determinants of teachers in providing grades. The presence of students is one of the teacher's strategies in determining learning assessments because in online learning students are still required to be present in the group.
Furthermore, Siswanto (2019) states that attendance is evidence that the student has attended a lesson. The presence of students in taking lessons is something that teachers must do because the presence of students will help teachers know the abilities of students after all they often participate in lessons and this will be one of the determinants of learning assessment during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the presence of students is very important to be recorded by the teacher to know students who are diligent and who are not diligent so that it becomes the basis for helping determine learning assessments.
On the other hand, according to the findings of the research, there are still teachers and students who are unaware with zoom and Google
