LISA

Dalam dokumen Anime Art Class - Yoai (Halaman 134-150)

Lisa doesn’t like winter and summer, but she tries to make the best of them. In the winter, she stays cozy and drinks hot chocolate with marshmallows, and in the summer, she stays

cool and drinks cold lemonade while relaxing under a fan.

1 Using the pencil, draw the basic shapes of the head and neck, and just the top of the shoulder area, adding guidelines if needed. Lisa is turned to her le with her head slightly tilted down, but she is looking at us. At this stage, remember not to press too hard, as you will be doing a lot of erasing later!

2 Position the eyes and ears at a similar height. Add the scarf around her neck and shoulders.

3 Lisa needs some hair and clothes. She has straight, mid-length hair with bangs that is accessorized with some hair clips. One tendril is standing up at the top of her head! She is wearing a sweater

underneath the scarf, though you can only see the top of it. Let’s give her a surprised facial expression.

Add the pupils and shine to her eyes, then draw in her glasses. I like round glasses, but you can experiment with other shapes that you prefer.

4 Our sketch is messy, so let’s use our erasers to clean it up. Use the white eraser to erase the guidelines as best as you can, then use the gray eraser to lighten all the lines, but do not erase them completely. Now refine the sketch and add more details to the hair, hair clips, and scarf. I like to draw the hair folding on top of each section at the top.

5 Using your Sepia fineliner, outline all the areas of the skin and add some blush texture to her cheeks. Using your Black fineliner, outline the rest of the lines. To make your line art pop more, go over some lines again to make them bolder, such as the outside of each section of hair. Add some lines at the end of the hair strands to make it more hair-like. Once the ink is dry, erase the pencil lines completely using your white eraser.

6 Let’s add some base color. Skin: Use Pale Fruit Pink (E000), leaving some white areas around the eyes. Hair: Use Barley Beige (E11). Eyes: Use Ice Blue (B12) for most of the iris with a little Pale Fruit Pink (E000) at the bottom. Hair clips: Use Ice Blue (B12) for one of them, leaving the other one white.

Scarf: Use Light Mahogany (E07). Sweater: Leave the sweater white, but use Iridescent Mauve (BV000) to add shading around its folds.

7 Now it’s time to apply the shading. Skin: Use Pink (RV11) along the hairline and to the neck and cheeks. Use Pale Fruit Pink (E000) to slightly blend it into the skin. Hair: Apply Light Suntan (E13) to the bottom of the hair, shading it in a zigzag pattern. Use Iridescent Mauve (BV000) on the underside of the hair to darken it a bit more. Sweater: Add some Pale Porcelain Blue (B000) to the already shaded area at the top of the sweater that is right below the scarf. Eyes: Use Grayish Lavender (BV23) to color in the pupils and the top third of the irises. Scarf: Use So Violet (BV11), paying close attention to the areas where it folds and bunches up. Finally, use your White gel pen to add some dots as shine to her hair.

KAI

Kai is actually a dragon, but here he is in his human form. Dragons can live to be thousands of years old and have all sorts of powers, like breathing fire and summoning

lightning. Some can even travel through space! To date, Kai has destroyed more than twenty planets by accidentally sneezing while flying over them.

1 Using the pencil, draw the basic shapes of the head, neck, and top of the shoulders, adding guidelines if needed. Define the profile of the nose and mouth area. Kai is facing to his right with his head slightly tilted back. At this stage, remember not to press too hard, as you will be doing a lot of erasing later!

2 Refine the shape of the nose, and position the eye and ear at a similar height. Draw the general shape of the hood of a sweatshirt.

3 Kai needs some hair. He has short, messy hair that branches out from the crown of his head. Let’s add a little bandage across his nose and give him a playful facial expression, adding the tip of his tongue peeking out and shine to his eye.

4 Our sketch is messy, so let’s use our erasers to clean it up. Use the white eraser to erase the guidelines as best as you can, then use the gray eraser to lighten all the lines, but do not erase them completely. Now refine the sketch and add more details to the hair, face, eye, and hoodie.

5 Using your Sepia fineliner, outline all the areas of the skin. Using your Black fineliner, outline the rest of the lines. To make your line art pop more, go over some lines again to make them bolder, such as the outside of each section of hair. Add some lines at the end of the hair strands to make it more hair- like. Once the ink is dry, erase the pencil lines completely using your white eraser.

6 Let’s add some base color. Skin: Use Barley Beige (E11), leaving the area around the inner eye and the bandage white. Hair: Use Iridescent Mauve (BV000), following the direction of the hair strands. Eye:

Color the iris and pupil Sea Green (G12), leaving the shine white. Hood: Use Warm Gray No.4 (W-4).

7 Now it’s time to apply the shading. Skin: Use Rose Mist (R83) along the hairline and on the neck, cheek, ear, and tongue. Use Barley Beige to slightly blend it in. Eye and hair: Use Ice Blue (B12) to shade in the top of the iris and the pupil of the eye, then apply this color lightly to the edges of the sections of hair that are Iridescent Mauve (BV000) to give the hair a more solid look. Blend the hair colors together with the Colorless Blender (0), and once it’s dry, use Pale Porcelain Blue (B000) on some of the hair strands. Hood: Using a mix of So Violet (BV11) and Ice Blue (B12), add shading to the hood as shown. I suggest putting down the So Violet (BV11) first, and then the Ice Blue (B12). Finally, use the Black fineliner to refine some of the lines around the nose, chin, jaw, ear, and neck, and use the White gel pen to add highlights along the nose and mouth area and to the cheek.
