Monitor, Heater and air conditioner, and audio system

JVH1257X Rear and front-side views

The MOD system operates in the following conditions when the camera view is displayed:

. When the shift lever is in the “P” (Park) or “N”

(Neutral) position and the vehicle is stopped, the MOD system detects moving objects in the bird’s-eye view. The MOD system will not operate if the outside mirrors are moving in or out, in the stowed position, or if either front door is opened.

. When the shift lever is in the “D” (Drive) position and the vehicle speed is below approximately 8 km/h (5 MPH), the MOD system detects moving objects in the front view.

. When the shift lever is in the “R” (Reverse) position and the vehicle speed is below approximately 8 km/h (5 MPH), the MOD system detects moving objects in the rear view.

The MOD system will not operate if the back door is open.

The MOD system does not detect moving objects in the front-side view. The MOD icon is not displayed on the screen when in this view.

When the MOD system detects moving objects near the vehicle, a chime will be heard and a yellow frame will be displayed on the view

where the objects are detected. While the MOD system continues to detect moving objects, the yellow frame continues to be displayed.

In the bird’s-eye view, the yellow frame is displayed on each camera image (front, rear, right, left) depending on where moving objects are detected.

The yellow frame is displayed on each view in the front view and rear view modes.

A blue MOD icon is displayed in the view where the MOD system is operative. A white MOD icon is displayed in the view where the MOD system is not operative.

MOD SYSTEM LIMITATIONS

GUID-9AD940B3-458C-4597-AA05-8999DF240B13

WARNING:

Listed below are the system limitations for MOD. Failure to operate the vehicle in accor- dance with these system limitations could result in serious injury or death.

. Excessive noise (for example, audio sys- tem volume or open vehicle window) will interfere with the chime sound, and it may not be heard.

. The MOD system performance will be limited according to environmental con- ditions and surrounding objects such as:

— When there is low contrast between background and the moving objects.

— When there is blinking source of light.

— When strong light such as another vehicle’s headlight or sunlight is pre- sent.

— When camera orientation is not in its usual position, such as when mirror is folded.

— When there is dirt, water drops or snow on the camera lens.

— When the position of the moving objects in the display is not changed.

. The MOD system might detect flowing water droplets on the camera lens, white smoke from the muffler, moving sha- dows, etc.

. The MOD system may not function prop- erly depending on the speed, direction, distance or shape of the moving objects.

. If your vehicle sustains damage to the parts where the camera is installed, leav- ing it misaligned or bent, the sensing zone may be altered and the MOD system may not detect objects properly.

. When the temperature is extremely high or low, the screen may not display ob- jects clearly. This is not a malfunction.

NOTE:

The blue MOD icon will change to orange if one of the following has occurred.

. When the system is malfunctioning.

. When the component temperature reaches a high level (icon will blink).

. When the rear view camera has detected a blockage (icon will blink).

If the icon light continues to illuminate orange, have the MOD system checked. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer

for this service.

CAUTION:

. Do not use alcohol, benzine or thinner to clean the camera. This will cause disco- loration.

. Do not damage the camera as the moni- tor screen may be adversely affected.

If dirt, rain or snow accumulates on any of the cameras , the MOD system may not operate properly. Clean the camera by wiping with a cloth dampened with a diluted mild cleaning agent and then wiping with a dry cloth.

WARNING:

. The heater and air conditioner operate only when the engine is running.

. Never leave children or adults who would normally require the support of others alone in the vehicle. Pets should not be left alone either. They could unknowingly activate switches or controls and inad- vertently become involved in a serious accident and injure themselves. On hot, sunny days, temperatures in a closed vehicle could quickly become high en- ough to cause severe or possibly fatal injuries to people or animals.

. Do not use the recirculation mode for long periods as it may cause the interior air to become stale and the windows to fog up.

. Do not adjust the heating and air con- ditioning controls while driving so that full attention may be given to vehicle operation.

The heater and air conditioner operate when the engine is running. The air blower will operate even if the engine is turned off and the ignition switch is placed in the “ON” posi- tion.

NOTE:

. Odors from inside and outside the vehicle can build up in the air conditioner unit.

Odor can enter the passenger compart- ment through the ventilators.

. When parking, set the heater and air conditioner controls to turn off air recir- culation to allow fresh air into the pas- senger compartment. This should help reduce odors inside the vehicle.

JVH1872X Left-Hand Drive (LHD) model (example) When the engine coolant temperature and outside air temperature are low, the air flow from the foot outlets may not operate. How- ever, this is not a malfunction. After the coolant temperature warms up, the air flow from the foot outlets will operate normally.

The sensors and *, located on the instru- ment panel, help maintain a constant tempera- ture. Do not put anything on or around the sensors.

*:The layout illustrated is for Left-Hand Drive

(LHD) models. On the Right-Hand Drive (RHD) models, the sensor is located on the opposite side.
