Malang is a city located in East Java Province, Indonesia, the second largest city in East Java after Surabaya, and the 12th largest city in Indonesia. This city was founded during the Kanjuruhan Kingdom era and is situated on a plateau covering an area of 145.28 km² which is located in the middle of Malang Regency.
Malang is one of the highlands which has the largest population in Indonesia. Has an altitude of 506 masl, the weather in this area is still cold because there are still many natural areas that are preserved even though the population is dense.
Has a beautiful panoramic view, like mountains, waterfall, and beaches is one of the
advantages possessed by this city. In addition, various types of food can attract the attention of tourists to visit this semi-metropolitan city.
Some of campuses or places of education is one of the reasons why the city of Malang is the right choice to live in. But because of that, Malang becomes congested and crowded with motorbikes and private cars on every road. Especially during the time to go and back from work. Especially in the Soekarno Hatta street area.
Lots of stores along the road certainly attract the attention of shopping enthusiasts and the limited parking space causes uncontrollable congestion. The existence of the path for
pedestrians seems to be not functioning because it has turned into a parking lot and a place to sell for street vendors.
The purpose of planning site planning in this area is to reduce the value of traffic jams so that time is not wasted, curbing the development and use of available land so that it functions optimally
The success index can be seen from the decrease in the number of occuring and the reduced number of hours spent on the road.
The usefulness of facilities and infrastructure in accordance with their function is also an index of the success of what is planned.
