Speaking is the single most important aspect of learning a second foreign language and success is measured in terms of the ability to hold a conversation in the language.1. These difficulties are caused by students' inability to construct sentences, lack of vocabulary and many mistakes in pronouncing words. Later students should be able to speak English as their media to improve their skills and motivation.
It builds on the active part of questions and answers, which is the essence of a foreign language. To find out whether students who are taught using direct method get better result or not. The organization of the thesis is as follows: It is a general description and is the basis for the thesis.
The first chapter consists of the background of the study, the limitation and definition of the problem, the purpose and significance of the study, and the organization of the dissertation. Standings of research results, it contains research location and time of the research, data description, data analysis and discussion.
Speaking
We can see that students feel better and more confident in communication if they can measure the student's ability, how far the student's fluency in communication is. From Wilson's book, it can be defined as "The development of a relationship between speakers and listeners".12 Furthermore, Brown and Yule stated in their book: "Speaking means expressing requests for needs, information, services, etc." Richards book: “Speaking is a form of language skill as a communication ability that can be developed when it is actually used in real life as a means of communication.
The students' initiated questions or common features or short answers to the teacher can be sufficient practice in responsive texts. Grammar is a set of language or language norms and rules must be followed when learning the language properly. Pronunciation refers to the way a language's words are spoken, or the way someone pronounces a word.
One learning style issue affecting students' classroom speaking in the contrast between reflectivity and impulsivity. Learners express themselves in utterances that are relevant, easy to understand by each other and of an acceptable level of linguistic accuracy.18.
Teaching Speaking And Conversation For Young Learner 1. Difinition of Teaching
We need to think about how to make speech activity fun, not boring and run successfully. As much as possible of the time allocated to the activity is actually taken up by student talk. From the explanation above, the researcher concludes that if all the above characteristics can apply in language teaching, I think that speaking activity can be successful and enjoyable.
Another important idea is the channel, which refers to the medium of the message (auditory/oral or written). The most difficult task of the teacher is to make students to master a speaking skill and have free communication in the class. In teaching speaking, the teacher usually finds difficulty in finding the most suitable way to be used.
Choose the appropriate words and sentence according to the appropriate social setting, audience, situation and topic. Conversation, which is the main focus of the writer, is a kind of speaking practice activity.

The teacher using the direct method believes that students should connect meaning and the target language directly. The first is led by Mutti'ah, a student from the Department of English Education State Islamic College of Ponorogo with the title "The direct method of teaching reading". And the second one is done by Siti Juhaeriyah, student of English Department Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta with the title "Influence of Use Direct Method in Teaching Vocabulary".
Vocabulary teaching using the direct method gave a positive impact, as can be seen from the post-test mean. In this study, we will determine the effectiveness of using the direct method in teaching conversation. The theoretical hypothesis in this research is that the speaking ability of students after teaching using the direct method is better than those before teaching using the direct method of the seventh grade at MTs Ar-Risalah Slahung in the academic year 2015/2016.
There is no difference in students' speaking ability before and after they were taught using direct method from 7th grade on MTs. There is a difference in the students' speaking ability before and after they were taught using the direct method from 7th grade at MT. In this chapter, the researcher discusses the research design used in this study.
The researcher also explained the population, sample and instrument supporting this study. A researcher came into the class to explain the material and tell the students what they had to do. In the pre-test of speaking skills, the researcher asked the students to make a group conversation based on the topic they had learned (Hobby Talk).
This researcher applied the treatment of speaking skills using the direct method, with the title of the text “Past the Exam”. The students had to understand the picture and the researcher gave them the conversation text based on the picture. The researcher gave the students the pre-test to have group discussions consisting of two people based on the theme.
On March 25, 2016, the researcher gave a post-test to the students who used a method or strategy as Direct Method. To analyze the effectiveness of using direct method in teaching conversation students of grade seven at MTs Ar-Risalah, the researcher used 't' test.

The History of Pondok Modern Ar-Risalah
Pondok is a place to teach Islam based on pesantren as Rasullulah Saw did. Ar-Risalah: The mission, vision (wahyu) and attribute of God's messenger (Kerasulan) is the study, teaching and listening to Rasulullah Saw in conveying the vision from God. A leader who fears Allah, from a leader and manages himself or his area in a good way and can use the gift of Allah to the best of his abilities.
Ulama (Ilmiawan) who believe in Allah SWT and always study and teach their knowledge to others until their knowledge expands and strengthens their faith in Allah than before. Have the right strunggel as a deposit and a source of economy to support their fight.

The researcher obtained his post-test score from the student's oral test in the post-test. From the above table, it could be seen that the mean, range and deviation standard of the student score were searched for using the formula below. The analysis data of students' post-test score of the seventh grade students of MTs Ar-Risalah Slahung.
From the above calculation, it could be concluded that the mean value of the post-test after using the direct method was 81.35, the range was 44, and the standard deviation was 13.8032, the student's grade of MTs Ar-Risalah is sufficient.
To determine a1 (the difference between f/n and a2) the above calculation can be seen in this table below. Data normality and students' post-test calculation after using the direct method with the Colmogorov-Smirnov formula. The hypothesis was: Ha was accepted if ɑ1 max ≤ D table : Ha was rejected if ɑ1 max ≥ D table.
Since the maximum value of ɑ1 was 0.1686, where the figure was smaller than the D table, it was decided to accept Ha, which means that the student's post-test data after using the Direct method would be normal were divided.
Discussion
The analysis of students' speaking skills is better after using the direct method than that previously taught using the direct method of seventh grade at MTs Ar-Risalah Shangung in academic year 2015/2016. There were no differences between the student's speaking skills before and after being taught through the direct method of MTs Ar-Risalah Shangung's seventh grade. There were differences between the students' speaking skills before and after the direct method of the seventh grade of MTs Ar-Risalah Shangung.
Determination of differences between students' speaking ability before instruction using direct method (X) and students' speaking ability after instruction using direct method (Y). So there is a difference in students' speaking ability before and after teaching using the direct method from seventh grade students at MT's Ar-Risalah Slahung. Based on the calculation above, the researcher could conclude that there is a significant difference in the students' speaking skills between before using the direct method and after using the direct method.
