ABSTRAK
Partisipasi politik dari masyarakat sangatlah penting di dalam pemilihan walikota dan wakil walikota, karena nasib daerah sangat banyak bergantung dari kualitas pemimpin yang menjabat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana partisipasi politik masyarakat dalam pemilihan walikota dan wakil walikota kota metro terkhusus di kecamatan metro pusat periode tahun 2015 – 2020, faktor – faktor penghambat dan pendukung serta upaya yang di lakukan oleh KPU Metro di dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik maasyarakat di kecamatan metro pusat dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan pendekatan induktif
Hasil penelitian yang telah penulis dapat dari hasil kegiatan magang di KPU Metro menunjukkan kinerja KPU Metro yang telah dilakukan di tahun 2015 sangat baik sehingga menjadikan Kota Metro memiliki tngkat partisipasi politik tertinggi se provinsi lampung di tahun 2015. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat partisipasi politik di kecamatan metro pusat seperti status sosial , status ekonomi , yang sangat beragam di kecamatan metro pusat yang menjadi faktor terbesar di kecamatan metro pusat sehingga masyarakat enggan untuk memilih.
Namun KPU Metro sudah berupaya semaksimal mungkin untuk meningkatkan partisipasi politik masyarakat dengan melakukan sosialisasi serta pendidikan politik bagi seluruh unsur masyarakat, serta KPU Metro juga menyediakan fasilitas sarana dan prasarana yang memadai bagi seluruh masyarakat yang ingin mendapatkan informasi tentang pemilihan di kota metro.
Sehingga penulis memberikan saran dari kesimpulan yang telah penulis dapat kepada KPU Metro maupun pemerintah daerah untuk meningkatkan komunikasi dan koordinasi antara pihak KPU Metro dan Pemerintah di dalam memperbaiki citra pemerintah dan KPU dengan menunjukkan kinerja yang baik dan melakukan kegiatan yang meningkatkan persatuan antar masyarakat kecamatan metro pusat

ABSTRACT
Political participation of the community is very important in election voter mayor and acting mayor, because chance of region very based on quality of the leader who served. This research aims to find out how political participation of the community in the election voter mayor and acting mayor in Metro city particularly in center Metro district period of 2015 – 2020, restricting factors and supporters as well as the efforts made by Metro election commission in increase political participation of the community in center Metro district by using qualitative research with descriptive methods and inductive approach
The result of the research that has been writer get from activities of internship in Metro election commission, shows the performance of the Metro election commission that has been done in the year 2015 is very good so making the metro city has the highest level of political participation in the year 2015. Many factors that affect the level of the political participation in district center Metro like social status, economic status who a very diverse in district center Metro that became the biggest factor in district center metro so the public was relucant to choose. But Metro election commission has been trying everything possible toincrease the levels of political participation of the community by doing socialization as well as political education for the whole society and Metro election commission also provide facilities adequate infrastructure and facilities for the whole community who wants to get information about elections in Metro city.
So the authors offer advice from the conclusion that writer can have to Metro election commission or local government to enhance communication and coordination between Metro election commission and the government in fixing the image of government dan Metro election commission by showing good performance and undertake activities that enhance the unity between the communities of distric center Metro
