Faculty and Graduate Student Reception

All faculty and graduate students are invited to a reception at Herrick Library to meet and greet the Alfred University librarians and each other. The reception will be held at the Book End Lounge in Herrick Library on Wednesday, August 24th from 4-5 pm.

The reception will be catered by Jill Grigg so you know the hors d'oeuvres will be delicious.

Remembering Toni Olshan

Friends, family and colleagues of Toni Olshan are invited to a reception in her honor at the Herrick Library Book End Lounge on Friday, August 26th, from 4-5:30 pm.

It will be an opportunity to get together to remember and savor the gracious and encouraging life of a wonderful friend to us all. There won't be a formal program, just bring a favorite story or

remembrance to share. Light refreshments will be served.

AU Bands

Join the Alfred University Symphonic Band or Jazz Band! Open to ALL musicians.

This semester, the Symphonic Band will perform MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS and popular themes, including:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Olympic Fanfare and Theme, Jurassic World, John Williams medley, music from Hamilton, and more!

The Jazz Band will perform a variety of tunes and will perform original compositions by Composer-In- Residence Leslie Burrs.

Symphonic Band meets 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Jazz Band meets 5:30-7 p.m. on Mondays and 7:15-8:45 p.m. on Wednesdays in room 302 of the Miller Performing Arts Center. We have instruments available.

This class is taught by Autumn McLain every Thursday from 9:20am - 11:10am.

RidgeWalk and Run

Sunday, October 16th, the 24th Annual RidgeWalk & Run event located in beautiful Southwestern, New York State. It takes place each fall as the hillsides are turning into a kaleidoscope of rich reds, oranges and yellows. The RidgeWalk & Run encompasses many events so if you are looking for a causal stroll through the woods or if you prefer a

competitive long run, we are just what you are looking for.

Up to 1,100 participants complete in one of the many events that are offered at the RidgeWalk & Run.

Whether you are looking to take a two mile relaxing walk through the woods or compete in the 15 mile timed trail run, we have it all! Our event concludes on a gorgeous horse farm with festivities that include door prizes, music, lunch, and kids' activities. This year's events are as follows:
