The Ithaca Wind Quintet will perform a concert on Sunday, Feb.ry 7, 2010 at 3 p.m. in Holmes Auditorium, Alfred University. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Ithaca Wind Quintet is the resident faculty woodwind ensemble for the Ithaca College School of Music, Ithaca, New York. Its members are Wendy Herbener Mehne, flute; Paige Morgan, oboe; Michael Galvn, clarinet; Lee Goodhew Romm, bassoon; and Alexander Shuhan, horn.
Founded in 1963, the Ithaca Wind Quintet is one of the oldest woodwind quintets in the country and an active part of Central New York's musical life. In March of 1992, the ensemble recorded its first compact disc. This recording was produced as the Ithaca Wind Quintet's contribution to the celebration of Ithaca College's Centennial and includes repertoire by Husa, Riegger, Schuller, Paul Goldstaub, and Dana Wilson (composers associated with Ithaca College) and established masterworks by Ligeti, Persichetti, and Jacob. A second CD featuring masterworks by Karel Husa, Carl Nielsen, and John Harbison was recorded in 2004.

Faculty/Staff nominations for Omicron Delta Kappa Dear Faculty and Staff,
It has already reached that point in the year that we look towards Honors Convocation and Graduation.
Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is now accepting nominations for student and faculty members.
ODK takes pride in its emphasis on leadership and service in extracurricular activities. A membership in ODK indicates that those students and faculty have demonstrated strong campus citizenship and a high standard in their studies. Students nominated for this honor society must display what you believe to be not only strong scholarship but strong leadership and community commitment.
Each member, if elected, is held to high standard set by the founder J. Carl Fisher of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA who himself was a well-rounded university citizen.
Please feel free to nominate your fellow staff members, outstanding students, or yourself for a chance to build on your leadership and service abilities.
Please send nominations to [email protected] by Monday, Feb. 15, 2010. There is no limit on the number of nominations, so please take the time to nominate others. Thank you for your time and dedication to Alfred University.
Thank you, Emily Tobin
