Alfred University to hold end-of-semester foundry exhibition 12/06/17
ALFRED, NY The Alfred University School of Art and Design will show work created at the National Casting Center Foundry during the “OUTCASTS" exhibition, Friday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The end-of-semester event is held in conjunction with the Alfred Art Walk and is sponsored by the Sculpture Dimensional Studies Division. It will feature artwork created by faculty, staff, students, visiting artists, and alumni during the 11th annual Iron Pour Meltdown on Oct. 28. More than 6,000 pounds of iron were melted at the foundry and used to create several pieces of sculpture.
Friday&s exhibition will be held at the National Casting Center Foundry, located at 180 North Main Street (Route 244), just north of the village of Alfred. The event is free and open to the public; refreshments, including hot apple cider, will be provided.
