An Analysis on the Implementation of Transposition and Modulation Procedures in Student Translation (A Descriptive Study in Sixth Semester Students of English Department of FKIP Unismuh Makassar), Ratna Dewi and Nurdevi Bte Abdul as the first and second consultant. It aimed to describe the application of transposition and modulation procedures in student translation.

Based on the review of two research results, the researcher is interested in analyzing the implementation of the transposition and modulation procedure in the students' translation. So in this case, the researcher intends to address this problem through this article titled: "An Analysis on the Implementation of Transposition and Modulation Procedure in the students' translation" (A study on fifth semester students at the English Department of FKIP UNISMUH Makassar 2014/2015).

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Definition of Translation

Owji (2013) explains in her diary that translation is a complicated task, in which the meaning of the text in the source language has to be conveyed to the readers of the target language. Mildred Larson added that translation is a process of replacing meaning from the source language to a target language (Mildred in Kusfajrini, 2013:31).

Translation Procedures

Based on Vinay and Dalbernet in Lili (2009:1), borrowing is used when the source language (SL) word is transferred directly to the target language (TL). Vinay and Darbelnet in Debora (2010:17) state that literal translation is the direct transfer of a source language text (SL) to a grammatically and idiomatically appropriate target language text (TL) in which the translator's task is limited to observing the observance of the linguistic servitudes of the target language (TL).

Aspects of Parameter Qualified Translation

In the real translation practice, additional technique tended to explicitness or clarity of a source language concept, especially if this concept does not have a one-to-one correspondence in the target language. Terminology of acceptable refers to has translation expressly appropriate with the principle, norm and culture occurring in the target language or not yet, both at the micro level as well as the macro level. This acceptable concept is very important because even if the translation was accurate in terms of the content or aspect of the message, this translation will be rejected by the target reader if the expression is contrary to the principle, norm and culture of the target language.

In the context of Batak Tapanuli language culture, calling grandfather's young name is not respectful. Explained above that one of an acceptable concept parameter is one that had a translation agrees with the objective grammar principle. In interpretation context, readable terminology is basically just not about readable text of source language, but readable text of target language as well.

Regardless of the still unshakable readability measurement tool, a translator must understand the source language of the readable concept text and the target language. 2 Partial meaning of the word, technical term, phrase, sentence, sentence or text of the source language was accurately transferred to the target language. 2 Generally the translation can be understood by the reader, but there are specific parts that need to be read more than once to understand the translation.

In this research, the researcher took the documents of the students' final test from the translation lecturer. The students' translation was analyzed word by word to find out the frequency of the students who implemented transposition and modulation procedures. In this part there were 86% students who implemented structural shift, the percentage was taken from the number of students who implemented structural shift, 26 was then divided by 30 (taken from the total of the students as respondents) and then multiplied with 100% to get the percentage.

In this part there were 53% students implemented unit change, the percentage was taken from the number of students implemented unit change is 16 then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. The obtained data on the accuracy of the students' translation when implementing the transposition and modulation procedure was 190%, the percentage was taken from the number of students whose translation was accurate is 19, then multiplied by 3 as a score of accuracy, and then divided by 30 (taken from the sum of the students as respondents) and then multiplied by . The obtained data in the acceptability of the students' translation when implementing the transposition and modulation procedure was 220%, the percentage was taken from the number of students that the translation was acceptable is 22, then multiplied by 3 as a score of accuracy, and then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage.

The data obtained on the readability of the students' translation in the implementation of the transposition and modulation procedure was 290%, the percentage is obtained from the number of students whose translation was readable is 29, then multiplied by 3 as the result of readability. and then divided by 30 (taken from the total students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. There were 170% for the translation of students who are correct in the application of transposition, the percentage is taken from the number of students whose translation was accuracy in the application of transposition are 17, then multiplied by 3 as the result of accuracy and then divided by 30 (taken from the total number of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. There were 146% for the translation of students who were accepted in the application of transposition, the percentage is taken from the number of students whose translation was accepted in the application of transposition are 22, then multiplied by 2 as the acceptance score and then divided by 30 ( taken from the total number of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage.

There was 73% for the translations of students who had readability in implementing the conversion. The percentage was derived from the number of students whose translation was legible when the conversion was implemented was 22, then multiplied by 1 as a score for readability, then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. There was 40% for the students' translations that were readable when implementing modulation; the percentage was derived from the number of students whose translation was legible at implementation.

FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

In this part, there were 76% of students who implemented an intra-system shift. The percentage was taken from the number of students who implemented an intra-system shift: 23, then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. In this part, there were 53% of students who implemented a level shift. The percentage was derived from the number of students who implemented an intra-system shift, being 16, then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as . respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. In this part, there were 53% students who were actively implemented to passively implemented, the percentage was taken from the number of students who were actively implemented to passively implemented, 16, then divided by 30 (taken from the total of students as . respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage.

In this part there were 50% students who were implemented actively for passively, the percentage was taken from the number of students who were actively implemented for passively, 15 was then divided by 30 (taken from the total of the students as respondents) and then multiplied with 100% to get the percentage. There were 5 sentences in one paragraph translated by 30 students of the sixth semester, to find out the accuracy of the students' translation in the implementation of transposition and modulation, the researcher analyzed all sentences in one paragraph. The data obtained in the table above shows the qualified aspect value in the students' translation.

There was 100% for the students' translation which is accurate in the implementation of modulation, the percentage is taken from the number of students whose translation was accurate in the implementation of modulation is 10, then multiplied by 3 as an accuracy score, and then divided by 30 (taken from the total of the students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. 2.) Admissibility. There was 86% for the students' translation that acceptability in the implementation of modulation, the percentage was taken from the number of students that the translation acceptability in the implementation of modulation is 13, then multiplied by 2 as a score of acceptability, and then divided by 30 (taken from the total of the students as respondents) and then multiplied by 100% to get the percentage. 3.) Readability. The lectures will be able to know how the implementation of the students' translation and modulation procedures in the students' translation.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Suggestion

From the results presented earlier in chapter four, here are some suggestions that can be taken into consideration. This research can be a reference for teachers to teach translation, and it can be an evaluation for teachers to teach procedure in translation. At the end of her studies, she was able to finish her thesis with the title An Analysis of the Implementation of Transposition and Modulation Procedures in the Students’ Translation (A Descriptive Study at the Sixth semester Students’ of English Department FKIP Unismuh Makassar.
