Terdapat dua tujuan dalam penelitian ini, tujuan pertama adalah menemukan tipe bahasa gaul yang ada dalam film Pitch Perfect, tujuan kedua untuk menganalisis arti dari bahasa gaul yang ada di film Pitch Perfect. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Alat yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data pada penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan teori dari Eric Partridge (2004). Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Peneliti menggunakan metode menonton film dan membaca skrip film untuk mengumpulkan data. Setelah mengumpulkan data, peneliti memulai proses identifikasi dengan cara mengumpulkan data, mengklasifikasikan data sesuai dengan tipe bahasa gaul yang ada pada teori, lalu menganalisis data, peneliti akan menjelaskan arti bahasa gaul yang ada dalam film Pitch Perfect dan mengkategorikan bahasa gaul kedalam tipe yang ada berdasarkan teori. Berdasarkan hasil data, peneliti menemukan bahwa terdapat dua tipe bahasa gaul yang ada dalam film Pitch Perfect, yaitu: Society slang dan Public Schools or University slang. Peneliti juga menemukan total 34 bahasa gaul yang ada dalam film Pitch Perfect.. x.

The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The tools used to obtain data in this study were the researcher herself. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the theory of Eric Partridge (2004). The researcher used descriptive analysis method. Researchers used the method by watching movies and reading movie scripts to collect data. After collecting data, the researcher began the identification process by collecting data, classifying the data according to the type of slang that exists in the theory, then analyzing the data, the researcher will explain the meaning of slang in the Pitch Perfect movie and categorize slang into existing types based on theory. Based on the data, the researcher found that there are two types of slang in the Pitch Perfect film, namely: Society slang and Public Schools or University slang. Researchers also found a total of 34 slang in the Pitch Perfect movie.. xi.
