A meeting of the International Board of Directors was held at the General Office in Chicago from February 3 to 7, 1973. That the Board approved the request of the Circle K International Board to hold its board meeting in Montreal during the period of the International Kiwanis Convention. That Exhibit B to the Commission's report, which becomes the new resolution policy, is approved.
That Annex C attached to the Committee's report describing the new travel policy to be added to Section A of the policy is hereby approved. That the following be added to section 10, paragraph b, of the financial policies: "All changes in the proposed budget shall be detailed in the report of the finance committee to the board of directors. The addition would be a lengthy presentation council similar to that used by the Kiwanis International Foundation, but without.
Kiwanis International's 58th birthday party was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Detroit Hilton. I welcome the results of that planning conference, as set out in the reports of the committee chairs.

1971-72 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC RELATIONS

There can only be three (3) other membership classes, namely privileged, senior and honorary. a) The active membership of this club shall consist of men of good character and community standing who reside or have other community interests within the area of this club. The active membership of this club will consist of a cross-section of those engaged in recognized business activities, professions, agriculture, institutional or professional life; or who, after being thus engaged, will have retired. Active membership in this club may not exceed twenty percent (20%) of the active membership in any given classification.
No man shall be entitled to membership in this club who holds membership (other than honorary) in any other Kiwanis club or service club of similar character. d) Active member shall pay membership fee and annual membership and shall be entitled to all privileges of this club. No person may join this club who holds membership (other than honorary) in any other Kiwanis club or other service club of a similar character. f) Active membership shall be automatically terminated in the event that any active member shall permanently remove his professional activity, or residence and community interests from the territorial limits of this club or shall change his professional activity so as to be unsuitable. for active membership in any available classification. . Any active member of this club who shall have been an active member of · one or more Kiwanis clubs in standing for such number of years, not less than ten (10), and who is unable to meet attendance requirements because of health, business, or other mitigating circumstances, and who must have fulfilled such other conditions as may be prescribed in these articles of association, may be elected senior member upon written application. The report of the Committee on Administration as it relates to New Club Building was reviewed and this Committee concur in its recommendations. It is the committee's opinion that the visual aids to be prepared should be made available as soon as possible. REPORT FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS' COMMITTEE ON PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT FOR THE MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
The Committee recommends that the 1973-74 Thematic Map identify the Major Emphasis Program as: GIVE OF YOURSELF BY ENRICHING THE LIVES OF THE ELDERLY. REPORT OF THE PROPERTY AND SUPPLIES MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE TO THE MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF TRUSTEES. Nevertheless, the committee is confident that the design adequately fulfills the Board of Directors' mandate that staff develop appropriate supporting materials.
The committee feels a need for a special meeting of the committee (at least an hour or two) at the time of the May board meeting for the purpose of discussing long-term planning in the area of program development. The committee recommends that promotion of the 1973-74 program be begun in the September 1973 issue of the KIWANIS MAGAZINE to be augmented by the Kiwanis activity calendar and other support in the October issue. REPORT FROM THE BOARD'S COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC RELATIONS TO THE MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL BOARD.
He said the Kiwanis emblem and the method in which it is displayed has a particular impact on the organization's image. The addition would be the elongated representation of the world similar to that used by the Kiwanis International Foundation, but without the wording of the Foundation. It will be studied further with a definite recommendation at the next Board meeting.
Given the short duration of such a project, the committee has decided not to proceed with it. Hapgood The committee reviewed the financial statement dated December 31, 1972, which represents the first full quarter of the 1972-1973 administrative year. The committee recommends that the accounts receivable total of the above-mentioned clubs be written off.
