The Birth of the Saviour, its Annunciation by the Angels and its Verification by the Shepherds. A patient and righteous student of the Third Gospel will not be at a loss for an answer.

Introduction

1. The Author

But is not the external evidence for the Lukan authorship of the Third Gospel and Acts equally strong? Thus we have three classes in favor of Luke as the author of the third Gospel.

3. The Sources of the Gospel

Corrector B2 is of about the same date and used a good copy, though not as good as the original. We are not yet in a position to determine the relation of the recently discovered Sinaitic Syriac (Syr-Sin.) to the other Syriac versions and to other representatives of primitive texts: and it would be rash for one unacquainted with it Syrian would attempt a solution to this problem. 9. Literary History

The Title of the Gospel
