The IUPUI Center for Service and Learning is pleased to announce 33 recipients of the 2013 William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion. This year’s Plater Civic Engagement Medallion process was open for the first time to students who are graduating with their Masters degrees.
The William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion is designed to honor IUPUI students who have shown an exemplary commitment to the community and who have developed into “civic-minded graduates”. This engagement could take the form of volunteer service at a non-profit agency, participation in a service learning course, contribution of voluntary work on a political campaign, advocacy on specific social issues, and involvement with a faculty member on a community-based research project, or employment in a community work-study position.
The following list includes the 2013 Plater Civic Engagement Medallion recipients and their school. Please join us in congratulating these students for their dedication and commitment to civic engagement.
